Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

An amazing place to stay with plenty of walking routes nearby. Luckily the weather wasn't too cold for a January visit but the fire made the yurt very cosy for the evenings. Worth knowing that the kitchen is well stocked with utensils so great if you are wanting to cook from scratch. We would definitely recommend staying here if you're after a peaceful getaway! - 26 Jan 2020Lucy
What a special place this is! It was in exactly the location we were after for the Welsh leg of our road trip and the idea of a remote yurt certainly did appeal! The yurt was super comfortable and kept us cosy during some heavy rain. The view from the deck when the sun came out was fantastic. Kitchen cabin had everything we needed as well. Shayn & Nathan were great hosts and have created such a great place to stay. Totally recommend for anyone wanting something a little off the beaten track and different! I hope to get back... read more - 30 Jul 2018
We had a wonderful time at the yurt! Shayne and Nathan are amazing friendly and accommodating hosts! The kids had a blast, loved the chickens, the sweet dogs and the open atmosphere! We bbq’ed, roasted marshmallows, meandered through the woods, chilled in the yurt! Thanks for a wonderful stay, great conversation and building such a lovely space! - 18 Apr 2021
Shayne and Nathan were lovely hosts! They had everything prepared for us and gave brilliant instructions on how to get there, how to use everything etc. The yurt was so cosy and warm and we didn’t have the best of weather either. Lovely location up in the mountains, will definitely be staying again! - 28 Aug 2020
Upon arrival, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes from Shayne and the two dogs. We were shown around the place and made to feel at home instantly. The location is beautiful and the place is a 10/10 and we would highly reccomened this place for all ages, who enjoy the outdoors and an area of outstanding natural scenery. Inside the Yurt is incredible and the small log burner keeps the place warm throughout the night along with a very comfy memory foam mattress! Overall we had an exceptional time at Shayne and Nathans incredible place and have... read more - 05 Apr 2021Alison
We had an amazing time, the yurt is incredibly cozy, warm and homely (smells great too!)
Me and my partner both argree that this is the nicest place we've stay so far, the entire atmosphere they've created there is beautiful.
Both of Shayne and Nathan are very welcoming and a joy to be around, which meant at no point did we feel like we're 'just' hiring the yurt from them for a few days. It's honestly felt like we'd be there for a lot longer.
We couldn't of asked for more. - 19 Apr 2021
I stayed for a weekend in February with my partner and we both had a wonderful time - we only wish we could have stayed longer!
The yurt is well furnished and, thanks to the stove, warm enough even on a cold night. The cabin kitchen is clean and well-equipped, and made things much more convenient. And it's all set in beautiful surroundings. - 18 Feb 2018Clare
Our third trip staying at shayne a and Nathan's and we absolutely love it, and wish we could live there. The hosts are really friendly and lovely people to be around, we ran out of wood, so nathan happily came and chopped some for us. The yurts are so comfortable, and the facilities are great for any weather. Hope to stay again soon. - 27 May 2019
Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts. They kept in constant communication before our trip and were very understanding when our plans had to change by a day. The yurt was cosy and unique and the surrounding landscape was fantastic to take-in in the morning with a cup of coffee! Nathan gave us plenty of sight-seeing recommendations in the area, but unfortunately, we were not there long enough to really explore. Will definitely be staying here again! - 23 Mar 2018
Perfect style for a glamping stay and the kitchen and bathroom area are well- stocked, warm, and perfect for making creature comforts such as cold wine in the evening and a hot cuppa in the morning possible! Location is great; up a narrow track but keep your foot on the gas and you'll get there in the end! Worth it for the stunning location. Memorable stay, thanks x - 06 May 2019
Beautiful welsh scenery and surrounded by wildlife. Warm and good size Yurt - get the log fire going and you’ll be really toasty.
Nathan and Shayne know the area well and recommended some great walks for dogs. You feel at peace sitting out on the veranda early morning with a cup of coffee listening to the flowing water and birds chirping away.
Me and my wife stayed here for our first wedding Ann and our only regret is not staying long enough.
We’ll be back eventually.
Thank you Nathan & Shayne - 25 Mar 2019
Ty Mam Mwar is nestled among the beautiful Welsh landscapes. From the conifer woodland that it sits within to the beautiful rolling hills and mountains surrounding, this Airbnb is like a concentrated point of natural energy that flows through you the moment you pull up.
Nathan was the most wonderful and welcoming host we've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was there to greet us when we arrived to show us around his beautiful patch of land, including the yurt, cabin and roundhouse that have clearly been created with love and care. Unfortunately Shayne was away during our visit... read more - 17 Feb 2022Jennifer
Welcoming hosts to a Yurt in an idyllic location. A place to arrive at and not get in your car again until you leave.
Very comfortable yurt with well equipped kitchen and bathroom, we very much enjoyed just sitting, enjoying the views with a cup of tea and 'playing fire' in the evenings, we even managed to keep the stove going all night!
Highly recommended. - 06 Sep 2019
I stayed alone in Shayne and Nathan's yurt and had an amazing time. Whilst the weather and my health wasn't fantastic I didn't take many long rambling walks as I'd hoped, but snuggling in the yurt and it's beautiful surroundings was just as lovely. Nathan gave me a postcode and to warn others, if you are not coming in through the village as I didn't it may send you up a hill with a 'Cynwyd Forest' sign on the right as described in the directions, but it is not the right one! Nathan was patient and lovely with my lateness... read more - 07 Jan 2020Lorna
A beautiful and welcoming yurt set in an amazing location surrounded by forrests full of wild phesants! A great space to relax and reconnect with nature during the day then getting comfy around a fire pit at night and watching the stars. The yurt warms up a treat once the stove is lit and there were plenty of extra blankets to hand. The hosts Shayne and Nathan were always at hand to help if needed and provided a very friendly welcome. We took a short drive out down the A5 to Chirk Castle which makes a beautiful... read more - 02 Sep 2018
My partner and I spent 3 nights in Shayne and Nathan’s yurt, location was amazing, great to sit outside on the hammock chairs and listen to the birds. The yurt was cosy just such a great place to stay. My partner was ill one of the days and the hosts made sure he was ok which was really appreciated. dogs and chickens were also very friendly! Loved our stay. - 26 Jun 2019Heather
A great place to stay, the yurt was super warm despite the cold March weather and very spacious for 5 guests plus our dog.
Great bathroom and kitchen facilities in addition to the yurt.
Super walks available for our dog in the fields and woodland.
Shayne was very friendly and even gave us some freshly laid eggs for breakfast.
Very much enjoyed the stay - 08 Mar 2020
