Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

What a beautiful space in idyllic surroundings, perfect to unwind, relax and connect with nature. The yurt is both beautifully decorated and very cosy, the fire kept us toasty and our two 5month old twins were slept like proverbial logs. Shayne and Nathan are perfect hosts and put the cherry on top of a much needed break away. We will be back to swim in the waterfalls in summer - 19 Mar 2020
Shayne and Nathan are absolutely amazing hosts - they were attentive and incredibly kind! They welcomed our dog with love and he happily played with their dogs as well! Our stay in their yurt has everything you want and more, we spent everyday either in the yurt, outside next to the BBQ pit or walking in the countryside that surrounds their home. It is beautiful, cosy and relaxing - highly recommendable! Thank you to Shayne and Nathan for making Josh's birthday special and very memorable! - 20 May 2018
This is the second time we stayed here and, just as expected, we had a fantastic time. Our daily adventures in the local forests ended with a hearty BBQ in the idyllic setting, then a cosy fire in the gorgeous yurt. Perfect!! Shayne and Nathan are breath of fresh air - down to earth, friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you! - 17 Jul 2020Serena
This was our first stay in a Yurt, and it was a wonderful time! It was easy to find, check in was easy, and the place was comfy and clean! Along with the yurt, you get a private cabin next door, where they have all the kitchen supplies you need! Shayne and Nathan were wonderful hosts, very accommodating and friendly! We had a great time!! Only complaint is that it did get pretty cold and we had some difficulty with the fire inside, getting it to start was hard without any paper kindling! So if you get cold easily like... read more - 28 Sep 2021
Of all the places we have stayed, this was the most magical and refreshing one to date. The location is breathtaking, fresh air and gorgeous views. The yurt is so cosy and beautiful. We drove 50mins and climbed Snowden. There is a village 5 minutes away. Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts. - 21 Oct 2019Moyra
We had a lovely stay, the yurt was gorgeous and very cosy. The deck outside was fantastic to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Lovely location, so peaceful and I loved all the fruit trees, statues etc and the general ambiance was wonderful. Very welcome hot showers after our walk in the hills, and the kitchen was a nice space to sit and enjoy our breakfast. Thanks so much! - 30 Sep 2018Briony Gunsen
What a (re)treat!! I had the most incredible stay at Ty Mam Mawr – Shayne and Nathan were such warm and generous hosts. A group of us booked out the site for a meditation retreat and it was the perfect setting to allow for such work to take place. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful, cosy yurts to stay in, a nearby waterfall that we walked down to and swam in! Adorable friendly pets – dogs and chickens! – that roamed around, sweetly interacting with us. And the site is clearly a labour of love – these stunning, eco-friendly structures. Oh and I mustn’t forget Shayne’s... read more - 30 Apr 2021
Well, another blissful weekend at the Yurts. This time we had the weather with us and it was perfect- sunny and blowy, with chilly nights. Perfect yurt weather and Cynwyd weather as the walks through the woods and up by the waterfall are beautiful. As before, the yurts were equipped with logs, blankets and cushions for a cosy time In the evenings and everything was spotlessly clean. We were in the big yurt this time and it was fabulous. So much room. Very comfortable beds, a piping hot three way shower and well equipped kitchen makes it top glamping. Unforgettable... read more - 31 Mar 2019
Me and my husband wanted to get away for a few days and what an amazing experience
To begin with the scenery was absolutely amazing waking up to the mountain views was the best part. Pairing it with the sheeps makes it worthwhile.
The yurt interior was absolutely beautiful and comfortable and everything was exactly as described.
It is important to keep in mind when booking that during the cold season you will go through at least two packs of logs to keep warm so be wary (we didn’t have an issue but it’s important to note). Secondly we did have... read more - 31 Mar 2022
Our third trip staying at shayne a and Nathan's and we absolutely love it, and wish we could live there. The hosts are really friendly and lovely people to be around, we ran out of wood, so nathan happily came and chopped some for us. The yurts are so comfortable, and the facilities are great for any weather. Hope to stay again soon. - 27 May 2019
Thank you for hosting us, we throughly enjoyed our stay at the yurt! We’d love to stay again, the place was perfect for our little dog. Stayed in the mini yurt for a few days which was lovely. The yurt is comfortable and cosy and the surroundings are very relaxing. This was mine and my husbands first experience with Airbnb and we were not disappointed. We booked this beautiful yurt to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we were not let down. It is absolutely beautiful in a stunning location. Very welcoming and always on hand when needed. Great recommendations on where to go. We had some fantastic walks with our dog and built some great memories. Highly recommend coming to stay here. - 10 Jun 2019Andrea
This place is just gorgeous, despite the weather we had an amazing time, the yurts are so warm with the log burner going so you don't get cold and the sound of the rain when you're all cosy and warm inside is so relaxing they have all amenities needed, the shower was lovely and hot, the kitchen was well kitted out with everything you need, worth noting they don't have a microwave but we didn't need one anyway so all good for us.
Reading others reveiws before we came I was expecting it to be lovely and we weren't... read more - 17 Jan 2020
If you're looking for a unique experience in a beautiful, secluded location this is it. Shayne and Nathan are warm and extremely accommodating hosts. Shayne and Nathan’s yurt is AMAZING. It’s the perfect escape for the weekend in the beautiful backdrop of North Wales.
This is the second time I’ve stayed there with friends and Nathan is an amazing host. We felt instantly welcome and relaxed.
I’d highly recommend this to anyone. It’s a great space and living off the grid is cool! - 09 Dec 2018Dione
The yurt is a fun and unique way to spend the night camping. Shayne and Nathan offer all the amenities you need when camping and the yurt is situated in a tranquil area where you can sit under the stars by the fire pit or relax in the comfort of the yurt. We hope to visit again with our kids. - 01 Jun 2018
We had a lovely time here. Shayne & Nathan are lovely and helpful hosts with clear knowledge on the local area with lots of suggestions of what you can do in the area. We loved the suggested walk we went on and we visited a local waterfall as suggested which was beautiful. All in all, we had a great experience here and have already recommend the place to put friends and family. Thank you for having us :) - 15 Feb 2019Ross
Nathan was really friendly, and although we didn't have to interact a great deal, you could tell both Nathan and Shayne were incredibly attentive and helpful. The place itself is great and situated well for exploring. The yurt was fantastic, as were the rest of the facilities. It is the ideal place to escape stress and relax. - 20 May 2018Emily
Shayne and Nathan’s Airbnb is even better than we could’ve imagined - the photos really don’t do it justice. The hosts are lovely, down to earth and are there to help whether it’s to turn the oven on or suggest a place for lunch.
The location alone is incredible - somewhere that feels like the middle of nowhere whilst only being 5 minutes from the main road. Words can’t describe how incredible this place is. - 22 Sep 2019
