Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

Such an incredible experience being so far off grid in the crazy weather that goes on when you're so high up. The yurt was so cosey with the fire on and even though it was minus temperatures outside we were honestly too hot at one point.
The lifestyle Shayne and Nathan have adopted is admirable and we certainly need more people who care so much about sustainability and don't relay on conviences so much.
The surrounding areas are stunning, so quiet and peaceful and some lovely walks to go on.
Thanks so much for the experience. - 01 Mar 2020Lauren
Shayne & Nathan are both lovely people, they make you feel right at home! We really enjoyed our stay in their beautiful yurt and they were always there to provide a helping hand. The yurt was provided with a lovely view which required all the essential you need for a cosy weekend off the grid. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and for making our stay that extra special. I will most definitely be booking another weekend soon and I recommend to anyone :) - 02 Apr 2018Juliet
The yurt is cosy with speakers for an iPod, electricity, a really efficient stove and two very comfortable beds. The bathroom is the piece de resistance- hot, fast, efficient shower with different settings for getting a top to toe clean! Also, a very well stocked clean kitchen and all with a fantastic view and plenty of parking. Lovely. I feel rejuvenated! - 09 Dec 2018
Cosy yurt in the middle of the wilderness. As in the description, it's in the lap of nature! Lovely location, and Shayne and Nathan are wonderful warm and helpful hosts. They live off the grid, producing their own electricity and water. Some nice walks to do around the area, and lots of stars to see at night! - 28 Jun 2018
Such a beautiful place to spend the weekend! I cannot recommend Shayne and Nathan's place enough.
Our hosts were super hospitable and friendly, any questions we had they were just a text away.
The large Yurt is authentically Mongolian and it is a truly magical space, perfect for a group to relax around a fire. The smaller yurt was more secluded, really gorgeous and had a beautiful view. Super warm and cosy and no need for the fires. Nathan generously supplied a starter kit too so no forking out for fire wood! You are off-grid so we had to be mindful... read more - 09 Sep 2018Kimberley
This was mine and my husbands first experience with Airbnb and we were not disappointed. We booked this beautiful yurt to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we were not let down. It is absolutely beautiful in a stunning location. Very welcoming and always on hand when needed. Great recommendations on where to go. We had some fantastic walks with our dog and built some great memories. Highly recommend coming to stay here. - 10 Jun 2019

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay! The perfect place to get away from it all, chill and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Beautiful location and still convenient for other towns. Would definitely recommend the walk to Liberty Hall from the yurt and being around for sunset, also using the fire pit and star gazing at night. We'll certainly be back in future! Great, friendly and helpful hosts too xxx - 19 Sep 2019Lisa
Everything about this place is fantastic and highly recommended. The hospitality from Nathan and Shayne is great and the yurt itself is cosy and welcoming, but also wonderfully spacious. The facilities are clean and well equipped, remarkable when you are so rural and off grid. The setting is peaceful and scenic but the nearby Corwen has most amenities. A great base for walking, mountain biking or just lying by the fire reading. - 04 Nov 2017
this beautiful yurt is truly outstanding. The facilities, yurt, cabin and shower room were created with such concern for everyone's comfort. The yurt is gorgeous and the little stove in there makes you feel so cozy and comfortable. I slept better for the nights we were there that I have in years. We'll be back. A sacred Haven of deep peace and wonder. Thank you x - 01 Oct 2017Jo
The yurt was a wonderful place to relax and completely escape city life for 2 nights. We could have stayed a lot longer! It was so cosy and warm with the log burner despite it being chilly outside and the kitchen and bathroom facilities were fantastic. Nathan and Shayne were very helpful and explained everything clearly when we arrived, offering us more wood after our first night too. Thanks for a lovely stay! - 15 Dec 2019
We had a lovely stay Shayne and Nathan’s Yurt! Even in October when it was wet and windy we could not have been warmer by the log fire!
There are plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable, like a hot shower, and a stove/sink area right outside your door, along with the dedicated kitchen area.
There are beautiful views, lots of wildlife to see (and hear), and lovely areas of woodland to explore.
There are a bunch of great places to visit such as local NT properties, the steam engine that goes through Corwen, and cafes and pubs. Just make sure... read more - 17 Oct 2019
Two of us stayed in the larger yurt for 3 nights: it was a beautiful and luxurious space with lovely attention to detail. We stayed when it was wet, windy and cold, and had a great time, cosy in the yurt with the fire going. We couldn't believe how warm we were - hardly left it except for a walk through the forests and into the empty mountains! The compost loo and the little outdoor kitchen just meters away were really convenient, and the main kitchen and bathroom was only a few steps up the hill when needed. Shayne and... read more - 06 Jan 2018
It was beautiful. Brought us back to nature. Saw the pheasants. Fed the chickens. Freedom to potter around the area. We watched the sunset lying in the hammock by the outdoor fire. Nathan was cheery and helpful and made us feel at home. The yurt was cosy with little stove. Great facilities - shower, kitchen. We had great experience. - 24 Jun 2018Simon
Absolutely brilliant stay in the most beautiful surroundings. Been to Wales many years ago and had forgotten what a wonderfully amazing part of the world Wales is. So green, full of valleys. Loveeeeeedddddd the yurt, the location, amenities (you thought of everything), the marshmallows around the fire watching the sunset. gorgeous walks on your doorstep. You made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We will be booking to come again with family and also with girlfriends. So wonderful to be reminded of the importance of positive well being, self reflection and connection to nature. We both hit the pause button... read more - 12 Oct 2017
Hidden up the valley on the edge of a forest it is not the easiest to find but what a treasure awaits when you get there.
An instant peace comes over you as you park up behind your yurt, before being wowed by the fairylights and wood burning stove to greet you in the cosy bed space. Even in icy temperatures the yurt holds its heat and with only the stream nearby you’re easily lulled off to sleep.
To be clear this does not feel like a camping trip, the communal shower and bathroom are clean and warm. Attached to a large... read more - 28 Oct 2018K
Excellent hosts - Nathan had great communication and made check-in super easy. The yurt was very cosy and even when it was only 5 degrees outside, the inside was so warm (after a couple of minutes with a log on the fire!) Will recommend to anyone looking for a short stay in the North Wales mountains. - 10 May 2019
Shayne and Nathan’s Airbnb is even better than we could’ve imagined - the photos really don’t do it justice. The hosts are lovely, down to earth and are there to help whether it’s to turn the oven on or suggest a place for lunch.
The location alone is incredible - somewhere that feels like the middle of nowhere whilst only being 5 minutes from the main road. Words can’t describe how incredible this place is. - 22 Sep 2019Anne
Thank you for hosting us, we throughly enjoyed our stay at the yurt! We’d love to stay again, the place was perfect for our little dog. The scenery was beautiful and the facilities were as described and clean. We had everything we needed and the hosts were super friendly and welcoming. - 17 Jun 2021Sam
Highly recommended location for a true peaceful ‘off the grid’ experience. Mother Earth is respected here. Nathan and Shayne are exceptionally welcoming and available with lots of local knowledge. The Yurts are exactly what you see in the photos. On site car parking. The kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped. Tilly and Ruby (host dogs) are very friendly and playful. We were very fortunate to have had truly stunning warm weather for February which provided fantastic sun rise and sun sets... we made use of the hammock on the decking and enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun. A very... read more - 26 Feb 2019
This was our first stay in a Yurt, and it was a wonderful time! It was easy to find, check in was easy, and the place was comfy and clean! Along with the yurt, you get a private cabin next door, where they have all the kitchen supplies you need! Shayne and Nathan were wonderful hosts, very accommodating and friendly! We had a great time!! Only complaint is that it did get pretty cold and we had some difficulty with the fire inside, getting it to start was hard without any paper kindling! So if you get cold easily like... read more - 28 Sep 2021Heather
A great place to stay, the yurt was super warm despite the cold March weather and very spacious for 5 guests plus our dog.
Great bathroom and kitchen facilities in addition to the yurt.
Super walks available for our dog in the fields and woodland.
Shayne was very friendly and even gave us some freshly laid eggs for breakfast.
Very much enjoyed the stay - 08 Mar 2020
What a beautiful space in idyllic surroundings, perfect to unwind, relax and connect with nature. The yurt is both beautifully decorated and very cosy, the fire kept us toasty and our two 5month old twins were slept like proverbial logs. Shayne and Nathan are perfect hosts and put the cherry on top of a much needed break away. We will be back to swim in the waterfalls in summer - 19 Mar 2020Craig
I have had the great pleasure in spending a night at Ty Mam Mawr and also running a weekend retreat there.
I whole heartedly recommend this place for both time away and holding a retreat.
The environment is gorgeous and secluded with a beautiful forest walk and open fields right near by.
The yurts are a true delight to sleep in with ideal decor to match your get away in nature.
Shayne & Nathan the owners are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and so accommodating. If you want to be on your own doing your own thing... read more - 16 Jun 2019
