Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

We had the absolute pleasure of running our first official retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and what an experience it was! Shayne and Nathan, who own this beautiful space, are the most helpful and gracious owners. From start to finish they assisted us wherever we needed, from frequent phone calls on the lead up to the retreat, to providing recipes and even cooking our whole group a delicious meal on the last night x Shayne and Nathan what you have created together is absolutely awe inspiring and I cannot recommend this place enough to others. Shayne and Nathan's yurt is in a stunning location, so peaceful and quiet, a real treat to have no road noise! The hosts are on hand, but totally respectful of our privacy, we felt like we had our very own bit of Welsh mountain. The yurt , cabin and bathroom were all spotless and really well equipped, it was really easy to cook tasty meals both in the kitchen and on the fire outside. Loved it and hope to be back, thank you! - 18 Sep 2020
Well, another blissful weekend at the Yurts. This time we had the weather with us and it was perfect- sunny and blowy, with chilly nights. Perfect yurt weather and Cynwyd weather as the walks through the woods and up by the waterfall are beautiful. As before, the yurts were equipped with logs, blankets and cushions for a cosy time In the evenings and everything was spotlessly clean. We were in the big yurt this time and it was fabulous. So much room. Very comfortable beds, a piping hot three way shower and well equipped kitchen makes it top glamping. Unforgettable... read more - 31 Mar 2019
If you want someone quirky, unique, off grid and a place that just feels magical then this is the place to stay. We arrived as a party of 14 and were well looked after and the accommodation was perfect. The experience was just lovely and each yurt/roundhouse was unique in its own way. We loved our weekend! - 16 Mar 2020
We have been glamping at various places over the year & this trip blew us away. The yurt & the land are really magical , everything was perfect , the kitchen was great for cooking in & shower was lovely. We really enjoyed chilling out in the yurt playing bord games , going for walks in the forest & ventured to Bala to go to the micro brewery.Nathan is a wonderful host , he made my birthday weekend & nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend going here , we can’t wait to return. Thanks so much xx - 14 Jan 2019
Staying in the yurt was a great experience of camping just more on the glamping side, that being you have a kitchen, bathroom and electricity. The hosts were nice and always replied to messages in a reasonable time. It is also in a good location with plenty of things to do nearby. - 15 Jan 2019
Absolutely brilliant stay in the most beautiful surroundings. Been to Wales many years ago and had forgotten what a wonderfully amazing part of the world Wales is. So green, full of valleys. Loveeeeeedddddd the yurt, the location, amenities (you thought of everything), the marshmallows around the fire watching the sunset. gorgeous walks on your doorstep. You made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We will be booking to come again with family and also with girlfriends. So wonderful to be reminded of the importance of positive well being, self reflection and connection to nature. We both hit the pause button... read more - 12 Oct 2017Anson
We had a lovely time staying in the yurt. The lighting and the decor make it a very relaxing place to be. The wood stove was perfect for keeping it nice and warm and Nathan had plenty of logs and firestarters available throughout our stay. Both the yurt and the wood cabin were clean and we had no complaints with anything. Nathan is very genuine and hospitable, which helped to make our stay in Wales even better. We would definetly recommend staying here if you're looking somewhere quiet, beautiful and a bit different than your run of the mill hotel. - 22 Dec 2017
Nathan & Shayne were warm, welcoming hosts and their yurt on the forest is just magical! They provided me with all the info I needed before my stay and helped me with any questions that I had. The yurt and the wood cabin for cooking had all the essentials you would need when 'glamping' and the location itself is so serene and beautiful, I enjoyed trying out all the great walks on offer! The yurt experience is something everyone should try at least once - warming up next to the traditional wood burning stove was great! The setting is just... read more - 02 Oct 2020Lorna
A beautiful and welcoming yurt set in an amazing location surrounded by forrests full of wild phesants! A great space to relax and reconnect with nature during the day then getting comfy around a fire pit at night and watching the stars. The yurt warms up a treat once the stove is lit and there were plenty of extra blankets to hand. The hosts Shayne and Nathan were always at hand to help if needed and provided a very friendly welcome. We took a short drive out down the A5 to Chirk Castle which makes a beautiful... read more - 02 Sep 2018
We stayed in the large yurt as a group of four and it was spacious and extremely cosy with the log burner. The hosts Shayne & Nathan were lovely and friendly while leaving you to have privacy too. They had just completed a small seperate bathroom and kitchen for theyurt, which was excellent with everything that you could need, we cooked nice meals and sat out by the fire. Every little detail has been thought through! The area is of outstanding beauty and we did lots of walking. Highly recommended! - 24 Jul 2020
What a special place this is! It was in exactly the location we were after for the Welsh leg of our road trip and the idea of a remote yurt certainly did appeal! The yurt was super comfortable and kept us cosy during some heavy rain. The view from the deck when the sun came out was fantastic. Kitchen cabin had everything we needed as well. Shayn & Nathan were great hosts and have created such a great place to stay. Totally recommend for anyone wanting something a little off the beaten track and different! I hope to get back... read more - 30 Jul 2018
Wow, what a lovely 4 days we have had at this beautiful yurt. Nathan and Shayne are great hosts very warm and friendly with lots of advice on local walks to hand. The yurt it’s self is truly amazing and it has its own little garden area with fire pit/bbq, chairs and table. The perfect place to come back to chill after a nice long walk and toast some marshmallows which went down a treat with our 6 year old son. I really can’t rate this pace enough. We are a family of 3 with a black Labrador and let... read more - 29 Aug 2019
what an amazing place. we are a group of young at heart mature ladies, who were in the area for an out door swimming event. we are always looking something different but value for money. we defiantly found this at Shayne and Nathan's place.
The yurt is amazing and very true to the photos. It is spacious, well equipped and warm. we lit the wood burner but then had to open the door to cool us down. ( what a waste)
It was had amazing natural light from the window in the centre of the roof.

Beautiful location and home. We loved that it was isolated, that walking trails started on the doorstep and that it was still within walking distance of a village. Nathan was a great host and provided excellent walking suggestions. We highly recommend staying here, and we hope to be back! - 24 Jan 2020Sheryl
Great location with lots of walks on your door step. Only 20 mins drive to Llangollen. Less to Corwen village. The large yurt has plenty of space with a nice comfy bed. The wood stove heats up nicely after 20-30mins. The kitchen is outside, but sheltered. It’s well equipped.
We had a lovely weekend and I would highly recommend it for the glamping experience. Remember it is glamping, so won’t always have all your luxuries, but that’s what makes it fun. :-) - 09 Jan 2022
Two of us stayed in the larger yurt for 3 nights: it was a beautiful and luxurious space with lovely attention to detail. We stayed when it was wet, windy and cold, and had a great time, cosy in the yurt with the fire going. We couldn't believe how warm we were - hardly left it except for a walk through the forests and into the empty mountains! The compost loo and the little outdoor kitchen just meters away were really convenient, and the main kitchen and bathroom was only a few steps up the hill when needed. Shayne and... read more - 06 Jan 2018Hilary Pound

What a fabulous place to stay. Exactly as advertised: a warm and cosy yurt! We couldn’t have asked for more. The log burning stove in the yurt was more than enough to keep us toasty warm at night. The location is in a stunning part of Wales with beautiful views to observe and explore. The facilities extremely clean and well-kept whilst being environmentally friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you for being so accommodating Nathan! - 16 Apr 2019Claire King
Sheer Love, Healing and Power emanates from The House and I was gifted with the opportunity of sharing in some of Her energy, truly a blessing and an honour to have had such an experience. Shayne and Nathan are pioneer souls of the New Earth and have manifested a sanctum that anchors as much as it radiates. Immeasurable gratitude to the work being dreamed, crafted and actualised here and may the vision ever-expand according to the Highest Good of All. It was beautiful. Brought us back to nature. Saw the pheasants. Fed the chickens. Freedom to potter around the area. We watched the sunset lying in the hammock by the outdoor fire. Nathan was cheery and helpful and made us feel at home. The yurt was cosy with little stove. Great facilities - shower, kitchen. We had great experience. - 24 Jun 2018Amy
Just got back from a 2 night stay at Shayne & Nathan’s Yurt. We couldn’t recommend it more, the hosts were brilliant, very welcoming and always there if you needed help. The yurt itself was lovely, very cosy with the log burner heating it up in around 15 minutes, and the cabin with the kitchen/toilet shower was great. It is in an ideal location, quiet, nice views and close to little villages. We had a great time and hope to be back soon! Thanks! - 21 Feb 2018Lydia
A beautiful space in a gorgeous location - very homely. It's a bit of a steep drive up to the site but definitely worth the view once at the top; perfect to view the sunrise too! Nathan is very hospitable and is always happy to help and give suggestions (unfortunately didnt get to meet Shayne). Overall a perfect place to stay with very lovely animals on site too. Can't wait to go back again! - 16 Dec 2018
