Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

Such a wonderful eco retreat centre here in Wales, the shaking, food, accommodation and welcome from shayne and Nathan was first class, looking forward to the next one already.

The Yurt was authentic, spacious and really cosy. The surrounding forest and berywn mountains are beautiful and great for walking. Large well equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking big meals. Shanye and Nathan were really great hosts willing to help out and give advice whenever needed. We also had a great evening with them in there round house 01 Jan 2018Ashlea
Wonderful and beautiful place. We were 4 young adults who went to have a relaxing weekend away, and that’s exactly what we got. The yurt was in such a lovely secluded place, with plenty of different and exciting walking spots and some absolutely stunning views, in every direction. Was interesting using the compost toilet as this was a new experience for all of us! Everything was very clean and well prepared for our visit. We couldn’t have asked for a better host and will definitely be returning for future holidays. 29 Apr 2018
Welcoming hosts to a Yurt in an idyllic location. A place to arrive at and not get in your car again until you leave.Very comfortable yurt with well equipped kitchen and bathroom, we very much enjoyed just sitting, enjoying the views with a cup of tea and 'playing fire' in the evenings, we even managed to keep the stove going all night! Highly recommended. 06 Sep 2019
I just held a breathwork and shamanic healing retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and it was a beautiful experience beginning to end. This review almost feels like I'm cheating writing a good review for two extremely good friends, that's how well we were welcomed and the depth of our connection to Shayne and Nathan over the course of the weekend. The location is absolutely gorgeous. The yurts are really cool and cosy. The round house is an energetic bubble with the vibe of a really sacred space. Shayne and Nathan are two of the most pleasant, loving, funny and authentic people... read more 02 Sep 2019Z
It was beautiful. Brought us back to nature. Saw the pheasants. Fed the chickens. Freedom to potter around the area. We watched the sunset lying in the hammock by the outdoor fire. Nathan was cheery and helpful and made us feel at home. The yurt was cosy with little stove. Great facilities - shower, kitchen. We had great experience. 24 Jun 2018
Shayne and Nathan were superb hosts- nothing was ever too much trouble and they thought of everything. The yurt was clean and designed so well- absolutely loved our stay there- definitely be great to go back in the summer time. It had been snowing during our visit but the yurt itself was so warm and cosy we looked forward to our cosy nights in after a day of exploring. Kitchen has everything you need and so interesting how they generate own energy. Really is a relaxing stay away- missing it already! Definitely a chilled eco friendly mini break! Absolutely loved my stay at the Yurt. Its the second time I've stayed, and it's been just as lovely of not better. The facilities are great, and have grown since the first time I went a couple of years ago, and I will definitely be back with more now there's more space!! Nathan and Shayne are lovely, the location is perfect for doing nothing but close enough to go explore Wales, and the yurt is just amazing! Thank you again, Jenni 13 May 2019
We stayed in the bigger yert, and didnt use the log cabin at all expect for rubbish, as we wanted to experience off the grid living as much as possible. We cooked on the fire pit and heated food up in the stove. To do this you have to take your own cooking equipment. I'd also take an ex so you can go get your own logs. If you want to experience off the grid living but still want a bed and hot shower this place will defo give you that. Lovely views, it's quite privet, think we bumbed... read more 03 Jun 2019Ben
It was our first experience of a Yurt and my sons were thrilled when we were shown around by our host. The facilities available were also fantastic with a large communal kitchen which was well stocked with kitchen equipment and the cleanest oven I think I’ve ever seen. Our Yurt also had access to a private toilet, shower and small kitchen area which was perfect for grabbing a coffee before you are able to face anyone. The yurt and area around the yurt feels very secluded and we only briefly saw the others staying in the other yurt once. We used... read more 17 Aug 2018

Great accommodation, very clean and had all kitchen equipment necessary! The yurt was lovely to stay in and really loved the rural location! The hosts never bothered us and gave us our privacy which was great. The bathroom and kitchen were as clean as the yurt which is rare when experiencing rural living! Everything was exactly as expected and we loved every minute of it would defiantly recommend if you like the outdoors of camping but prefer a slightly more (glamping) approach! I only suggest that when you book and are on route to the location.. do not use the... read more 05 Jun 2019

We had a great 2 nights in the Yurt! It’s exactly as the pictures and the wood burner was more than warm enough even when it was nearly freezing outside :) We would hope to come back in the summer to make more use of the outdoor spaces! Thanks Shayne & Nathan for the experience we would 100% recommend it! :) 24 Mar 2019
Shayne and Nathan’s Airbnb is even better than we could’ve imagined - the photos really don’t do it justice. The hosts are lovely, down to earth and are there to help whether it’s to turn the oven on or suggest a place for lunch. The location alone is incredible - somewhere that feels like the middle of nowhere whilst only being 5 minutes from the main road. Words can’t describe how incredible this place is. 22 Sep 2019Constance
If you're looking for something a bit quirky but that still has all the amenities you need, then this is a great place to go. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming, the yurt was incredible and they have everything you need. Everything is clean and the setting is fantastic, beautiful and quiet with a nice babbling brook for background noise. The shared facilities were great and we never had any issues with waiting (there is only one other yurt). Overall, great stay. The beautiful weather definitely helped :) 17 Jul 2019
We stayed for four nights with our 6 month old daughter. The Yurt looks great and is in a beautiful location. It is very comfortable and cosy even though it's pretty large. Shayne and Nathan were great hosts, very easy going, easy to talk to and helpful. Facilities were all good, kitchen was well equiped and comfy. 21 Jun 2019Dione
The yurt is a fun and unique way to spend the night camping. Shayne and Nathan offer all the amenities you need when camping and the yurt is situated in a tranquil area where you can sit under the stars by the fire pit or relax in the comfort of the yurt. We hope to visit again with our kids. 01 Jun 2018Claire
We were blessed to have had a Heavenly stay in this sanctuary of sorts that was so lovingly dreamed into being by the wonderful Nathan and Shayne. Peacefully surrounded by beautiful nature whilst sleeping in a magical yurt knowing that it’s in an ecologically minded way is truly a gift! We are so thankful to the both of them and from the heart recommend a stay here. 28 Jun 2018
Absolutely fantastic stay! Not only was it a beautiful location but the hospitality during our time there made us wish we could have stayed longer! Hosts welcomed our dog, who thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the other pets and wildlife. They were very accommodating of this and ensuring we had everything we required. Yurt itself and decor created a peaceful ambience and we were supplied with enough wood to keep the fire going! Would definitely recommend a stay here with themes superb hosts 11 Apr 2019Belinda Ray
Delight-filling Paradise on Earth.... Ty Mam Mawr - House of The Great Mother, has clearly been created with great love and vision by Nathan and Shayne. A beautiful and beautifully constructed sacred retreat centre... built to serve, inspire, evolve and grow, far into the future. Mother Nature's Blessings on this place are palpable.
