Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

We stayed in the large yurt as a group of four and it was spacious and extremely cosy with the log burner. The hosts Shayne & Nathan were lovely and friendly while leaving you to have privacy too. They had just completed a small seperate bathroom and kitchen for theyurt, which was excellent with everything that you could need, we cooked nice meals and sat out by the fire. Every little detail has been thought through! The area is of outstanding beauty and we did lots of walking. Highly recommended! - 24 Jul 2020Louise
The yurts are so lovely, they are decorated beautifully with everything you need close by. The hosts are very welcoming and happy to help with anything you need. They are a pleasure to stay in with relaxing surroundings and i look forward to going again in the future! Amazing place and a credit to the hosts!! - 12 Jul 2019
The place really has that magical feel about it. Outstanding everything.
Nathan welcomed us as soon as we arrived with a warm and welcoming encounter. Incredibly approachable guy who made us feel so at home.
The yurt itself was a thing of beauty, bright and spacious.
Lovely hot showers, bbq facilities with fully functioning kitchen.
The surrounds are breathtaking. Sheep, chickens, ruby the dog all just added to the magic. The walk to the waterfall was lovely too, only a short distance from the yurt. Easy access to snowdonia too.
All in all a unique, 5 star experience.
Unforgettable. - 11 Sep 2019
My partner and I spent 3 nights in Shayne and Nathan’s yurt, location was amazing, great to sit outside on the hammock chairs and listen to the birds. The yurt was cosy just such a great place to stay. My partner was ill one of the days and the hosts made sure he was ok which was really appreciated. dogs and chickens were also very friendly! Loved our stay. - 26 Jun 2019
Really lovely surroundings. Nathan was easy going (Shayne was away, but I am sure she is also lovely!) and the yurt was a perfect little hub. We walked up the big hill with huge backpacks and I have to say the reward felt greater! Buuuuutt take up Shayne and Nathan’s offer for a lift if available. You’ll be thankful later - 29 Jan 2020Christine
We had an amazing 3 night stay in Nathan and Shayne’s yurt! Nathan gave us a warm welcome and tour on our arrival. We were blown away by the scenery surrounding the yurt and how self sufficient everything was. We’ve stayed in a few yurts before, but found this one really had all the amenities spot on! The kitchen, shower and toilet are on your door step, the fire pit and bbq are in a nice private area (also right beside the yurt) and the main log cabin has practically everything you can think of kitchen wise. We had plenty... read more - 28 Sep 2019
Love love loved our stay :) the location is beautiful, the yurt is beautiful, everything is so well done you can live comfortably off grid without feeling alienated we stayed here and climbed Snowdon, the journey was so straight forward and it was incredible to come back to such a chilled out space Shayne & Nathan are super lovely and helpful upon arrival , didn't disturb us after check in :) already hoping to come back and for a bit longer next time :) - 23 Jun 2019
Shayne and Nathan are absolutely amazing hosts - they were attentive and incredibly kind! They welcomed our dog with love and he happily played with their dogs as well! Our stay in their yurt has everything you want and more, we spent everyday either in the yurt, outside next to the BBQ pit or walking in the countryside that surrounds their home. It is beautiful, cosy and relaxing - highly recommendable! Thank you to Shayne and Nathan for making Josh's birthday special and very memorable! - 20 May 2018
Had an amazing weekend away in the most unique place i've stayed, everything there is impressive from the attention to detail in the yurt to the way things are set up at shayne and nathans place, everything is so clean, organised and well thought out, will definitely be booking to go here again, the hosts were amazing people and were so helpful, this id the ideal tranquil retreat :) - 31 Oct 2017
Just got back from a 2 night stay at Shayne & Nathan’s Yurt. We couldn’t recommend it more, the hosts were brilliant, very welcoming and always there if you needed help. The yurt itself was lovely, very cosy with the log burner heating it up in around 15 minutes, and the cabin with the kitchen/toilet shower was great. It is in an ideal location, quiet, nice views and close to little villages. We had a great time and hope to be back soon! Thanks! - 21 Feb 2018Lindsay
Had an amazing time, yurt was beautiful and in a gorgeous location. Kitchen and bathroom facilities we’re spot on and very clean. Nathan and Shayne were just a message away if we needed anything.
Had lots of fun playing fetch with the owner’s dogs. Lots of hiking routes around the area. Perfect to get away from it all for a few days. Would recommend to anyone wanting a bit of piece and quiet in the countryside. Will definitely be booking again :) - 02 Apr 2019
Hidden up the valley on the edge of a forest it is not the easiest to find but what a treasure awaits when you get there.
An instant peace comes over you as you park up behind your yurt, before being wowed by the fairylights and wood burning stove to greet you in the cosy bed space. Even in icy temperatures the yurt holds its heat and with only the stream nearby you’re easily lulled off to sleep.
To be clear this does not feel like a camping trip, the communal shower and bathroom are clean and warm. Attached to a large... read more - 28 Oct 2018Lee
This place is stunning. The yurt sits 400m above a sleepy Welsh village called Cynwyd. We arrived in the evening and woke up to gorgeous views, all covered in snow. Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and firewood was cheap and readily available for the stove in our yurt, keeping our stay cosy. Only a short 50 minute drive to Snowdonia national park, I fully recommend this as a place to stay if you'd like to climb Snowdon. Will definitely come back. - 11 Nov 2019
I have had the great pleasure in spending a night at Ty Mam Mawr and also running a weekend retreat there.
I whole heartedly recommend this place for both time away and holding a retreat.
The environment is gorgeous and secluded with a beautiful forest walk and open fields right near by.
The yurts are a true delight to sleep in with ideal decor to match your get away in nature.
Shayne & Nathan the owners are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and so accommodating. If you want to be on your own doing your own thing... read more - 16 Jun 2019Paul
What an incredible place. I can’t recommend this enough, get off the grid and unwind for a weekend!
Nathan and Shayne are fantastic hosts who communicated really well and looked after us throughout the stay.
They were happy to recommend anything locally but also left us to it in the yurt.
Couldn’t ask for more for a weekend away relaxing.
Thanks both for a top weekend! - 11 Mar 2018
Exceeded all expectations, we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our stay - even despite there being a storm. The yurt was so lovely, cosy and super clean - the stove heats it up really well and we stayed warm and snug all night long. The kitchen and bathroom also really clean, great hot shower and everything was provided that you’d need for an enjoyable break away in the countryside.
We were just gutted the weather was rubbish and we didn’t get to enjoy the hammocks and outdoor fire pit - we’ll have to come back!! Not that we needed an... read more - 03 Mar 2019Neve
Great accommodation, very clean and had all kitchen equipment necessary! The yurt was lovely to stay in and really loved the rural location! The hosts never bothered us and gave us our privacy which was great. The bathroom and kitchen were as clean as the yurt which is rare when experiencing rural living! Everything was exactly as expected and we loved every minute of it would defiantly recommend if you like the outdoors of camping but prefer a slightly more (glamping) approach!
I only suggest that when you book and are on route to the location.. do not use the... read more - 05 Jun 2019
Absolutely fantastic stay! Not only was it a beautiful location but the hospitality during our time there made us wish we could have stayed longer!
Hosts welcomed our dog, who thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the other pets and wildlife. They were very accommodating of this and ensuring we had everything we required.
Yurt itself and decor created a peaceful ambience and we were supplied with enough wood to keep the fire going! Would definitely recommend a stay here with themes superb hosts - 11 Apr 2019Carl
If you are looking for something a bit different then the Yurt is great. Warm, cosy and good for stargazing in the evenings. Make sure you put the full address in as only the postcode takes you to a dead end at the end of the road. Nathan met us to check in and show us around, he was helpful and recommended a few local places to find food. The Yurt gets very toasty andalthough the supplied wood only lasted one night, the DIY shop in Corwen sells wood and kindling quite cheap so it wasn't an issue. The... read more - 28 Mar 2019
Absolutely stunning location and a beautiful yurt.
Nathan made us very welcome, while also giving us all the privacy we needed for a romantic trip away. All amenities were provided and the use of the log burning stove was explained to us; luckily because we didn’t have a clue! It turns out it was very simple to use and it made the yurt incredibly toasty on a chilly night.
The yurt, the kitchen area and the bathroom were spotless and the bed was ridiculously comfy. Plus there was an adorable chicken called Esmeralda!
This is an ideal spot for exploring lots... read more - 28 Mar 2018
