Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

An absolutely wonderful stay. Hosts were fabulous, friendly with loads of local knowledge and were willing to help us with everything. The location is great. Very secluded, peaceful, with loads of walks through dense forests and rivers. The yurt itself was SPECTACULAR with great attention to detail, 10/10 cleanliness and facilities. What an experience! Will 100% be visiting again. Thank you! - 05 Oct 2020Georgina
Shayne and Nathan's yurt is in a stunning location, so peaceful and quiet, a real treat to have no road noise! The hosts are on hand, but totally respectful of our privacy, we felt like we had our very own bit of Welsh mountain. The yurt , cabin and bathroom were all spotless and really well equipped, it was really easy to cook tasty meals both in the kitchen and on the fire outside. Loved it and hope to be back, thank you! - 18 Sep 2020Alex
I have been back to this location many times now to hold my 'Return To Nature' retreat with groups from London and other parts of the UK. The place never fails to deliver. Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn the land is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to in the UK.
Aside from the setting, it is always an absolute pleasure to see and catch up with Shayne and Nathan who are becoming dear friends and have infused the place with LOVE which is immediately felt by anyone present. I'll be back again a few more... read more - 26 Apr 2021
Our third trip staying at shayne a and Nathan's and we absolutely love it, and wish we could live there. The hosts are really friendly and lovely people to be around, we ran out of wood, so nathan happily came and chopped some for us. The yurts are so comfortable, and the facilities are great for any weather. Hope to stay again soon. - 27 May 2019Lee
This place is stunning. The yurt sits 400m above a sleepy Welsh village called Cynwyd. We arrived in the evening and woke up to gorgeous views, all covered in snow. Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and firewood was cheap and readily available for the stove in our yurt, keeping our stay cosy. Only a short 50 minute drive to Snowdonia national park, I fully recommend this as a place to stay if you'd like to climb Snowdon. Will definitely come back. - 11 Nov 2019Paul
What an incredible place. I can’t recommend this enough, get off the grid and unwind for a weekend!
Nathan and Shayne are fantastic hosts who communicated really well and looked after us throughout the stay.
They were happy to recommend anything locally but also left us to it in the yurt.
Couldn’t ask for more for a weekend away relaxing.
Thanks both for a top weekend! - 11 Mar 2018
Perfect style for a glamping stay and the kitchen and bathroom area are well- stocked, warm, and perfect for making creature comforts such as cold wine in the evening and a hot cuppa in the morning possible! Location is great; up a narrow track but keep your foot on the gas and you'll get there in the end! Worth it for the stunning location. Memorable stay, thanks x - 06 May 2019Oliver
What a beautiful space in idyllic surroundings, perfect to unwind, relax and connect with nature. The yurt is both beautifully decorated and very cosy, the fire kept us toasty and our two 5month old twins were slept like proverbial logs. Shayne and Nathan are perfect hosts and put the cherry on top of a much needed break away. We will be back to swim in the waterfalls in summer - 19 Mar 2020
Absolutely loved my stay at the Yurt. Its the second time I've stayed, and it's been just as lovely of not better. The facilities are great, and have grown since the first time I went a couple of years ago, and I will definitely be back with more now there's more space!! Nathan and Shayne are lovely, the location is perfect for doing nothing but close enough to go explore Wales, and the yurt is just amazing! Thank you again, Jenni - 13 May 2019
Really friendly hosts and very helpful if needed but very relaxed and leave you to it otherwise. The yurts are really beautiful, as is the setting. The kitchen is well stocked with kitchenware to cook good meals for large groups. We bought logs from Nathan and made fires in the pits in the evenings. Has the amenities and comforts of a chalet stay but still feels like you’re camping in the wild! Great stay! - 11 Aug 2019
Wow! What a wonderful place to stay! The perfect place to get away from it all, chill and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Beautiful location and still convenient for other towns. Would definitely recommend the walk to Liberty Hall from the yurt and being around for sunset, also using the fire pit and star gazing at night. We'll certainly be back in future! Great, friendly and helpful hosts too xxx - 19 Sep 2019Chloë
A very relaxing experience! Warmer than expected in February once you get the wood burner going and a lovely space to be in. We brought a radio and games to keep ourselves entertained as not too much to do nearby in the evenings, but lots of nice walks within easy drive! Shayne and Nathan were great hosts and made us feel really welcome! - 05 Feb 2018Tom
Shayne and Nathan were friendly hosts who were very helpful and a pleasure to meet. Our large group of 12 was very comfortably housed in their retreat which was relaxing and well facilitated. We all enjoyed our evening around the fire pit catching up and enjoying the beautiful scenery around their property. Looking forward to our next visit. - 14 Jul 2019
Faultless! Nathan gave us the warmest of welcomes and made us feel at home right away, which is such a relief when traveling with dogs. The space is absolutely stunning, well designed with lots of thoughtful touches like handmade rugs, mood lighting, extra blankets, logs for the fire etc. The whole trip was made completely stress free by the detailed instructions from detailed directions to log burner operations. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway surrounded by beautiful walks through the woods with some stunning views as recommended by the amazing hosts. We’ll definitely be returning soon! - 22 Sep 2020

This is such a beautiful place, created with love and held by Shayne and Nathan. I felt so warmly welcomed and also inspired by their whole vision of living in harmony with nature, using only natural, sustainable resources... They prove what can be achieved...a wonderful place to be. - 09 May 2018
We recently stayed for four nights with our 7 month old daughter and had a truly fantastic time. So nice to get away from everything and try something a little bit different.
Plenty to do in the local area including some lovely river/ forest walks right on your doorstep. We spent an entire day just chilling in the yurt/ garden area and our little one clearly loved it. The yurt and surrounding grounds were a sensory haven for her with so many colours, lights, sounds etc... she got particularly excited when a chicken wandered into the yurt!

We had a lovely time staying in the yurt. The lighting and the decor make it a very relaxing place to be. The wood stove was perfect for keeping it nice and warm and Nathan had plenty of logs and firestarters available throughout our stay. Both the yurt and the wood cabin were clean and we had no complaints with anything. Nathan is very genuine and hospitable, which helped to make our stay in Wales even better. We would definetly recommend staying here if you're looking somewhere quiet, beautiful and a bit different than your run of the mill hotel. - 22 Dec 2017Martin
Our stay was perfectly timed for a nice warm Easter weekend. We were greeted by Shayne who was very attentive and made us feel at home. The yurt is lovely, just exactly what you expect, with nice views. What we really enjoyed was the birdsong, a range of finches but also woodpeckers, cuckoo and even a sighting of a sparrowhawk. There are some resident Pheasant families that will keep you amused for hours. Considering this is off grid it didn't feel like it in that electricity and wifi were good, the kitchen facilities spotless and... read more - 22 Apr 2019
Shayne and Nathan’s Airbnb is even better than we could’ve imagined - the photos really don’t do it justice. The hosts are lovely, down to earth and are there to help whether it’s to turn the oven on or suggest a place for lunch.
The location alone is incredible - somewhere that feels like the middle of nowhere whilst only being 5 minutes from the main road. Words can’t describe how incredible this place is. - 22 Sep 2019
Such a beautiful place to spend the weekend! I cannot recommend Shayne and Nathan's place enough.
Our hosts were super hospitable and friendly, any questions we had they were just a text away.
The large Yurt is authentically Mongolian and it is a truly magical space, perfect for a group to relax around a fire. The smaller yurt was more secluded, really gorgeous and had a beautiful view. Super warm and cosy and no need for the fires. Nathan generously supplied a starter kit too so no forking out for fire wood! You are off-grid so we had to be mindful... read more - 09 Sep 2018Bradley
From the get-go Nathan and Shayne where fantastic. Any questions you have leading up to to your check-inn date are responded quickly, Including local knowledge of information about any activities you've got planned in the area. The quick 10 minute introduction about the facilities was good, we even asked several questions about how the off-grid system they have works. The Yurt itself was incredible and very clean. The amenities on-site where also great and clean. Our group spent the day climbing Snowden and was lovely to come back to a shower (which uses straight off the mountain water) and have... read more - 21 Jul 2019
Fantastic hosts, it was an overall brilliant experience. The yurt was beautiful and very peaceful. The amenities are great too. Nathan was lovely and was very informative with suggestions on what to do in the area/nearby. 100% overall, thanks again look forward to visiting again in the future. - 14 Apr 2019Damian
It's a set in a beautiful area of Wales, remote but not too far away from key places to visit. Feels like you are away from it all there. Weather was bad during our stay, but still got to see thousands of stars one night. The big yurt can hold more people too, so great for a big family, and very cosy with the fire going x - 28 Aug 2020
We had a great time at Shayne & Nathan's place. They made us feel very welcome with Nathan giving us top tips on things to do around the place. This included swimming in a waterfall about a 15min walk form the Yurts. Everything was clean and tidy and we had enough dishes and pans etc to cook for all 9 of us. We will be returning for sure. - 31 Aug 2020Simon
Absolutely brilliant stay in the most beautiful surroundings. Been to Wales many years ago and had forgotten what a wonderfully amazing part of the world Wales is. So green, full of valleys. Loveeeeeedddddd the yurt, the location, amenities (you thought of everything), the marshmallows around the fire watching the sunset. gorgeous walks on your doorstep. You made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We will be booking to come again with family and also with girlfriends. So wonderful to be reminded of the importance of positive well being, self reflection and connection to nature. We both hit the pause button... read more - 12 Oct 2017John
Upon arrival, we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes from Shayne and the two dogs. We were shown around the place and made to feel at home instantly. The location is beautiful and the place is a 10/10 and we would highly reccomened this place for all ages, who enjoy the outdoors and an area of outstanding natural scenery. Inside the Yurt is incredible and the small log burner keeps the place warm throughout the night along with a very comfy memory foam mattress! Overall we had an exceptional time at Shayne and Nathans incredible place and have... read more - 05 Apr 2021
We had a wonderful relaxing getaway here. The yurt is a beautiful space, romantic, comfortable and cosy. It's very quiet and the stars were amazing! We enjoyed walking in the Berwyn mountains and swimming/kayaking on Lake Bala.
Nathan was very welcoming and helpful, telling us about local walks and lending us a map.
The kitchen is well equipped and it's handy having a private loo right next to the yurt. I loved it here and wished we were staying longer. - 05 Sep 2018
