Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

What a fabulous place to stay. Exactly as advertised: a warm and cosy yurt! We couldn’t have asked for more. The log burning stove in the yurt was more than enough to keep us toasty warm at night. The location is in a stunning part of Wales with beautiful views to observe and explore. The facilities extremely clean and well-kept whilst being environmentally friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you for being so accommodating Nathan! - 16 Apr 2019
Just back from a fabulous three day break in the Welsh mountains at one of the most unique airbnb properties we have ever stayed in.
The location was excellent, being conveniently placed to access most of North Wales abd the yurt was everything that we expected, and yes, while we were in fact living off the grid, Shayne and Nathan made sure that the whole experience was extremely comfortable with plenty of hot showers and great kitchen facilities (and even wifi if you just have to keep in touch with the outside world but much better to leave technology... read more - 24 Feb 2019Sarah
We were two familes of four that booked the two Yurts for a 3 night stay over the new year period, and we enjoyed every second of it! What an absolutly fanstastic place to stay. The House manual is very thorough but all common sensse, as seasoned campers weren't put off. There are a few things to think about as the site is completley off grid, but all things that are considerate to conserve enery and the environment.
The Yurts are amazing and extremly compfortable and to wood stoves heat them up so quickly... read more - 02 Jan 2020
Welcoming hosts to a Yurt in an idyllic location. A place to arrive at and not get in your car again until you leave.
Very comfortable yurt with well equipped kitchen and bathroom, we very much enjoyed just sitting, enjoying the views with a cup of tea and 'playing fire' in the evenings, we even managed to keep the stove going all night!
Highly recommended. - 06 Sep 2019Moyra
We had a lovely stay, the yurt was gorgeous and very cosy. The deck outside was fantastic to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Lovely location, so peaceful and I loved all the fruit trees, statues etc and the general ambiance was wonderful. Very welcome hot showers after our walk in the hills, and the kitchen was a nice space to sit and enjoy our breakfast. Thanks so much! - 30 Sep 2018
If you are looking for something a bit different then the Yurt is great. Warm, cosy and good for stargazing in the evenings. Make sure you put the full address in as only the postcode takes you to a dead end at the end of the road. Nathan met us to check in and show us around, he was helpful and recommended a few local places to find food. The Yurt gets very toasty andalthough the supplied wood only lasted one night, the DIY shop in Corwen sells wood and kindling quite cheap so it wasn't an issue. The... read more - 28 Mar 2019Zoe
We really enjoyed our time in the yurt. All of the facilities were spotlessly clean and the location is excellent. Even in the middle of winter the yurt was warm and cosy thanks to the wood burning stove.
The communal kitchen and bathroom were well equipped with everything we needed. The outdoor kitchenette and composting loo were really handy too. We would recommend the yurt to anyone and would definitely visit again. - 21 Jan 2019
We were blessed to have had a Heavenly stay in this sanctuary of sorts that was so lovingly dreamed into being by the wonderful Nathan and Shayne. Peacefully surrounded by beautiful nature whilst sleeping in a magical yurt knowing that it’s in an ecologically minded way is truly a gift! We are so thankful to the both of them and from the heart recommend a stay here. - 28 Jun 2018Naomi
Absolutely fantastic stay! Not only was it a beautiful location but the hospitality during our time there made us wish we could have stayed longer!
Hosts welcomed our dog, who thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the other pets and wildlife. They were very accommodating of this and ensuring we had everything we required.
Yurt itself and decor created a peaceful ambience and we were supplied with enough wood to keep the fire going! Would definitely recommend a stay here with themes superb hosts - 11 Apr 2019Snowflake Mountain
What a fabulous inspiring place this is, a blue print for off grid living and working in harmony with nature. I was here for a weekend on a retreat and left feeling nourished in heart body and soul. A thoroughly uplifting experience in magical surroundings, with a waterfall in walking distance and river to bathe in.
The round living spaces feel so organic and harmonious and the shower and kitchen facilities all work well. Can't wait to visit again. Utter peace and tranquility with caring joyous hosts. - 14 Jun 2018

This is such a beautiful place, created with love and held by Shayne and Nathan. I felt so warmly welcomed and also inspired by their whole vision of living in harmony with nature, using only natural, sustainable resources... They prove what can be achieved...a wonderful place to be. - 09 May 2018
What an amazing place to stay! We stayed in the smaller yurt, plenty big enough for both of us with lovely outside space and our own fire pit. Beautiful bed linen and wall hangings inside and fairy lights which added to the cozy ness along with the log burner. Fully equipped spotlessly clean kitchen in the log cabin next door. Didn’t get to meet Shayne unfortunately but Nathan is a great host. Very hospitable and up for a chat. They have a beautiful place up there in the forest and will most certainly be going back but for longer next... read more - 21 Oct 2018Tom
Beautiful welsh scenery and surrounded by wildlife. Warm and good size Yurt - get the log fire going and you’ll be really toasty.
Nathan and Shayne know the area well and recommended some great walks for dogs. You feel at peace sitting out on the veranda early morning with a cup of coffee listening to the flowing water and birds chirping away.
Me and my wife stayed here for our first wedding Ann and our only regret is not staying long enough.
We’ll be back eventually.
Thank you Nathan & Shayne - 25 Mar 2019Jonathan
What a top place! We’ve had a quick family break (2 adults, 3 kids age 9,10,13) and we’ve loved every minute of Yurt life! The Yurt itself is fantastic and a great space. Brilliantly decorated, a cosy warm stove and outside area for fires, seating. The facilities are all thoughtfully done with attention paid to being self sufficient as you are off grid. You wouldn’t know this though as you have all you need. The area itself is off the beaten track and you need to drive to access shops, eating etc but there is also a well equipped kitchen... read more - 28 Apr 2019
We spent a great night in Nathan and Shayne's yurt. It was lovely and cosy with the woodburner on and there was plenty room for 5 of us.
It is in a great setting, the kids loved playing with Ruby the dog and we had a lovely walk in the forest before leaving.
Would love to visit again. - 03 Apr 2018Emma Groves
We had the absolute pleasure of running our first official retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and what an experience it was! Shayne and Nathan, who own this beautiful space, are the most helpful and gracious owners. From start to finish they assisted us wherever we needed, from frequent phone calls on the lead up to the retreat, to providing recipes and even cooking our whole group a delicious meal on the last night x Shayne and Nathan what you have created together is absolutely awe inspiring and I cannot recommend this place enough to others. There are many original and quirky places to stay on AirBnB, but I really don't think you would find anywhere better than this. The yurt and amenities are excellent and both Shayne and Nathan are truly fabulous hosts... you will instantly feel welcome and they really feel like you have become part of their lifestyle for the duration of the stay (and you get to meet their gorgeous dogs, cats and chickens!).
The views are incredible and the local area is wonderful to explore, and if you are willing to travel slightly further afield there are some great sights to see... read more - 26 Aug 2019
This is a wonderful place to experience. We have wanted to come here for nearly two year and we finally managed to book a weekend away for our anniversary. It was everything we needed and more ! The views and surroundings are magical. Listening to the birds all day was soothing. The sunsets were great. We went here to celebrate our anniversary and it was a weekend we will have in our memory for a long time. The yurt had so many hippy vibes which was great ! This is definitely a place to get some tranquilty and stillness. We... read more - 22 Mar 2020
Shayne and Nathan were friendly hosts who were very helpful and a pleasure to meet. Our large group of 12 was very comfortably housed in their retreat which was relaxing and well facilitated. We all enjoyed our evening around the fire pit catching up and enjoying the beautiful scenery around their property. Looking forward to our next visit. - 14 Jul 2019Rebecca
We had a fantastic time at Shayne and Nathan’s yurt - it’s a real haven in the Welsh countryside! The yurt itself is beautifully furnished, spacious (perfect for a girls weekend) and very very cosy, especially on a stormy weekend. The off-the-grid facilities are great and we could self cater very easily. Shayne & Nathan are incredibly welcoming and accommodating hosts - their dogs Ruby and Tilly even came with us for a walk over the hills. We will definitely be back for another adventurous weekend away from London! - 14 Oct 2018
Everything about our stay at Shayne and Nathan’s was perfect! I was a little sceptical about staying in a Yurt in the height of winter but it was super cosy and warm with the wood burning stove. Shayne and Nathan were on hand for advice about the local area and ensuring our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Can’t recommend this place enough! What an incredible space in a breathtaking location. - 11 Feb 2018
The place really has that magical feel about it. Outstanding everything.
Nathan welcomed us as soon as we arrived with a warm and welcoming encounter. Incredibly approachable guy who made us feel so at home.
The yurt itself was a thing of beauty, bright and spacious.
Lovely hot showers, bbq facilities with fully functioning kitchen.
The surrounds are breathtaking. Sheep, chickens, ruby the dog all just added to the magic. The walk to the waterfall was lovely too, only a short distance from the yurt. Easy access to snowdonia too.
All in all a unique, 5 star experience.
Unforgettable. - 11 Sep 2019Christine
We had an amazing 3 night stay in Nathan and Shayne’s yurt! Nathan gave us a warm welcome and tour on our arrival. We were blown away by the scenery surrounding the yurt and how self sufficient everything was. We’ve stayed in a few yurts before, but found this one really had all the amenities spot on! The kitchen, shower and toilet are on your door step, the fire pit and bbq are in a nice private area (also right beside the yurt) and the main log cabin has practically everything you can think of kitchen wise. We had plenty... read more - 28 Sep 2019Z
It was beautiful. Brought us back to nature. Saw the pheasants. Fed the chickens. Freedom to potter around the area. We watched the sunset lying in the hammock by the outdoor fire. Nathan was cheery and helpful and made us feel at home. The yurt was cosy with little stove. Great facilities - shower, kitchen. We had great experience. - 24 Jun 2018
This really was a hidden gem in the forest!
We had such a wonderful time, we were made so welcome and relaxed the minute we walked into the beautiful yurt. The hammocks were amazing and extra facilities just perfect.
Shayne and Nathan are people to really inspire to be like, they’re working so hard to have as little impact as possible on the planet, everything has been thought through and considered. Inspirational!
Thank you, we can’t wait to come back! X - 21 Jul 2019
