Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

What an amazing place to stay! We stayed in the smaller yurt, plenty big enough for both of us with lovely outside space and our own fire pit. Beautiful bed linen and wall hangings inside and fairy lights which added to the cozy ness along with the log burner. Fully equipped spotlessly clean kitchen in the log cabin next door. Didn’t get to meet Shayne unfortunately but Nathan is a great host. Very hospitable and up for a chat. They have a beautiful place up there in the forest and will most certainly be going back but for longer next... read more 21 Oct 2018Victoria
Really fantastic place, very peaceful with beautiful views. Yurt was truly cosy, once the fire got going it was lovely and toasty despite being 1 degree outside. Hosts were super hospitable even when we got very very lost! Great facilities for cooking, eating and socialising. Very friendly dogs even came to say hello which was a lovely surprise! Already planning on coming back soon! 30 Nov 2018
What a beautiful space in idyllic surroundings, perfect to unwind, relax and connect with nature. The yurt is both beautifully decorated and very cosy, the fire kept us toasty and our two 5month old twins were slept like proverbial logs. Shayne and Nathan are perfect hosts and put the cherry on top of a much needed break away. We will be back to swim in the waterfalls in summer 19 Mar 2020Rochelle
Very quiet and peaceful holiday which was perfect for us and our dog. Great location with many walks close by, to get further afield into snowdonia it took us roughly a 1 hour drive each time but this gave us great opportunity to stop off at beauty spots. It can get very cold in the yurt at night so the use of the wood stove is very much needed and the included free bucket of logs you get lasts at least 5 days. You share the kitchen and bathroom with the smaller yurt which everytime was clean and had... read more 05 Jul 2019
Wow, what a lovely 4 days we have had at this beautiful yurt. Nathan and Shayne are great hosts very warm and friendly with lots of advice on local walks to hand. The yurt it’s self is truly amazing and it has its own little garden area with fire pit/bbq, chairs and table. The perfect place to come back to chill after a nice long walk and toast some marshmallows which went down a treat with our 6 year old son. I really can’t rate this pace enough. We are a family of 3 with a black Labrador and let... read more 29 Aug 2019
A very peaceful and secluded place that is drivable to local amenities - but you may as well just take what you need and chill. We were impressed that it had internet facilities and the communal shower is a good one. The hosts are really lovely people and very welcoming. We've never stayed in a yurt before but we were happy with our stay and will look at yurts again in the future. The scenery is amazing. 27 May 2018Justine
We had a fantastic stay in the yurt, and can’t wait to return! Stunning, peaceful location on the edge of the forest, with waterfalls and hiking paths on your doorstep. The facilities are outstanding: a very well-equipped kitchen, delightful hot shower, wifi, and fire pits. Shayne was a warm host, giving us plenty of local advice. Thank you! 26 Aug 2019
We had a wonderful weekend away is this fabulous yurt. The location is perfect and simply peaceful. Nathan was a brilliant host. Excellent communication and the yurt was exactly as advertised. The log fire ensured we were cosy at night. Sitting out on the deck in the evening is just tranquil; the stars are so bright. We did lots of walking around the local area. Thanks for the tips and the use of your map. We will certainly recommend to friends and will be back ourselves sometime soon. Thanks for a fabulous weekend break. We had a great 2 nights in the Yurt! It’s exactly as the pictures and the wood burner was more than warm enough even when it was nearly freezing outside :) We would hope to come back in the summer to make more use of the outdoor spaces! Thanks Shayne & Nathan for the experience we would 100% recommend it! :) 24 Mar 2019

Just back from a fabulous three day break in the Welsh mountains at one of the most unique airbnb properties we have ever stayed in. The location was excellent, being conveniently placed to access most of North Wales abd the yurt was everything that we expected, and yes, while we were in fact living off the grid, Shayne and Nathan made sure that the whole experience was extremely comfortable with plenty of hot showers and great kitchen facilities (and even wifi if you just have to keep in touch with the outside world but much better to leave technology... read more 24 Feb 2019Matthew
An amazing place to stay with plenty of walking routes nearby. Luckily the weather wasn't too cold for a January visit but the fire made the yurt very cosy for the evenings. Worth knowing that the kitchen is well stocked with utensils so great if you are wanting to cook from scratch. We would definitely recommend staying here if you're after a peaceful getaway! 26 Jan 2020

We had the absolute pleasure of running our first official retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and what an experience it was! Shayne and Nathan, who own this beautiful space, are the most helpful and gracious owners. From start to finish they assisted us wherever we needed, from frequent phone calls on the lead up to the retreat, to providing recipes and even cooking our whole group a delicious meal on the last night x Shayne and Nathan what you have created together is absolutely awe inspiring and I cannot recommend this place enough to others. Great location and the Yurt is really cool. Shayne and Nathan were really helpful and facilitated a late check in for us travelling up from Guildford.Everything you need is here and it is a great base to explore from to places like Llangollen and Betsy. Thanks for your hospitality. 04 Aug 2019
Me and my partner had the most amazing experience at Shayne and Nathan’s yurt! It was a peaceful and relaxing break for us both. The yurt is beautiful and in the most gorgeous location! Shayne and Nathan were incredible and made us feel at home. We couldn’t recommend them and the yurt more! We didn’t want to come home! If you want a relaxing break in the Welsh mountains with kind and caring hosts then this is your place! You even have chickens to hang out with! :) 26 Jul 2019Shion
this beautiful yurt is truly outstanding. The facilities, yurt, cabin and shower room were created with such concern for everyone's comfort. The yurt is gorgeous and the little stove in there makes you feel so cozy and comfortable. I slept better for the nights we were there that I have in years. We'll be back. A sacred Haven of deep peace and wonder. Thank you x 01 Oct 2017

Wonderful part of the country. Drive through Snowdonia to the west coast while you're there. Great for recharging and spending quality time with loved ones. Can get chilly in the night this time of year so make sure you've always got wood for the log burner. Shayne & Nathan are very welcoming and were quick to respond to any questions. 01 Nov 2019Kimberley
This was mine and my husbands first experience with Airbnb and we were not disappointed. We booked this beautiful yurt to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we were not let down. It is absolutely beautiful in a stunning location. Very welcoming and always on hand when needed. Great recommendations on where to go. We had some fantastic walks with our dog and built some great memories. Highly recommend coming to stay here. 10 Jun 2019
Well, another blissful weekend at the Yurts. This time we had the weather with us and it was perfect- sunny and blowy, with chilly nights. Perfect yurt weather and Cynwyd weather as the walks through the woods and up by the waterfall are beautiful. As before, the yurts were equipped with logs, blankets and cushions for a cosy time In the evenings and everything was spotlessly clean. We were in the big yurt this time and it was fabulous. So much room. Very comfortable beds, a piping hot three way shower and well equipped kitchen makes it top glamping. Unforgettable... read more 31 Mar 2019Leeanne
Absolutely stunning location and a beautiful yurt. Nathan made us very welcome, while also giving us all the privacy we needed for a romantic trip away. All amenities were provided and the use of the log burning stove was explained to us; luckily because we didn’t have a clue! It turns out it was very simple to use and it made the yurt incredibly toasty on a chilly night. The yurt, the kitchen area and the bathroom were spotless and the bed was ridiculously comfy. Plus there was an adorable chicken called Esmeralda! This is an ideal spot for exploring lots... read more 28 Mar 2018
Highly recommended location for a true peaceful ‘off the grid’ experience. Mother Earth is respected here. Nathan and Shayne are exceptionally welcoming and available with lots of local knowledge. The Yurts are exactly what you see in the photos. On site car parking. The kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped. Tilly and Ruby (host dogs) are very friendly and playful. We were very fortunate to have had truly stunning warm weather for February which provided fantastic sun rise and sun sets... we made use of the hammock on the decking and enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun. It was beautiful. Brought us back to nature. Saw the pheasants. Fed the chickens. Freedom to potter around the area. We watched the sunset lying in the hammock by the outdoor fire. Nathan was cheery and helpful and made us feel at home. The yurt was cosy with little stove. Great facilities - shower, kitchen. We had great experience. 24 Jun 2018Nichola
What a fantastic stay we had in such a beautiful yurt in a beautiful part of Wales! Never stayed in such a relaxing, tranquil place, with just the birds tweeting and no one else around - it was perfect! The hosts are very friendly, the yurt was so cosy, especially on an evening with the stove lit, and the kitchen cabin was great with plenty of space and lovely, private views. We will definitely be booking again! 12 May 2019Sharnamay
This is a wonderful place to experience. We have wanted to come here for nearly two year and we finally managed to book a weekend away for our anniversary. It was everything we needed and more ! The views and surroundings are magical. Listening to the birds all day was soothing. The sunsets were great. We went here to celebrate our anniversary and it was a weekend we will have in our memory for a long time. The yurt had so many hippy vibes which was great ! This is definitely a place to get some tranquilty and stillness. We... read more 22 Mar 2020
Great accommodation, very clean and had all kitchen equipment necessary! The yurt was lovely to stay in and really loved the rural location! The hosts never bothered us and gave us our privacy which was great. The bathroom and kitchen were as clean as the yurt which is rare when experiencing rural living! Everything was exactly as expected and we loved every minute of it would defiantly recommend if you like the outdoors of camping but prefer a slightly more (glamping) approach! I only suggest that when you book and are on route to the location.. do not use the... read more 05 Jun 2019Chloë
A very relaxing experience! Warmer than expected in February once you get the wood burner going and a lovely space to be in. We brought a radio and games to keep ourselves entertained as not too much to do nearby in the evenings, but lots of nice walks within easy drive! Shayne and Nathan were great hosts and made us feel really welcome! 05 Feb 2018Ruth
The yurt is warm and cosy, set within beautiful countryside and we had some great walks. Nathan was a friendly and accommodating host and we enjoyed meeting him. Kitchen amenities had everything you need and the other facilities were excellent too. We will certainly be visiting again. 08 Sep 2019
