Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

Fantastic hosts, it was an overall brilliant experience. The yurt was beautiful and very peaceful. The amenities are great too. Nathan was lovely and was very informative with suggestions on what to do in the area/nearby. 100% overall, thanks again look forward to visiting again in the future. - 14 Apr 2019
Wow, what a lovely 4 days we have had at this beautiful yurt. Nathan and Shayne are great hosts very warm and friendly with lots of advice on local walks to hand. The yurt it’s self is truly amazing and it has its own little garden area with fire pit/bbq, chairs and table. The perfect place to come back to chill after a nice long walk and toast some marshmallows which went down a treat with our 6 year old son. I really can’t rate this pace enough. We are a family of 3 with a black Labrador and let... read more - 29 Aug 2019
The yurt is as beautiful as in the pictures and we had a great time staying in it. The bed was comfy, there is a proper shower and all kitchen paraphernalia, one needs. Bring your own matches, towles, tea etc. though.
The surrounding area is beautiful, Pistyll Rhaeadr is really worth visiting. - 19 Jun 2018
The location is unreal, great views when and close to all the areas we wanted to see. The bed was comfy and cosy and the yurt also had enough room inside to socialise and chill. Modern shower, toilet and sink in the bathroom. Hosts were friendly and answered any questions we had quickly. Would love to come back in the summer to enjoy again x - 10 Feb 2019Hussain
Highly recommened this booking! We found it cosy even at night despite minus temperatures thanks to the wood burners so dont let the time of year put you off.
On arrival the yurts and kitchen were very clean and the lovely hosts were always available if needed but allowed us pur privacy. Personally the best part of the experience was the most beautiful walks without the need for a car to get there. The children loved the friendly dogs the most and enjoying being with the family in the evening playing games. The place has something for everyone! - 05 Jan 2019
Just got back from a 2 night stay at Shayne & Nathan’s Yurt. We couldn’t recommend it more, the hosts were brilliant, very welcoming and always there if you needed help. The yurt itself was lovely, very cosy with the log burner heating it up in around 15 minutes, and the cabin with the kitchen/toilet shower was great. It is in an ideal location, quiet, nice views and close to little villages. We had a great time and hope to be back soon! Thanks! - 21 Feb 2018Christopher
One of the rare places you stumble across on Airbnb, get super excited about, and it lives up to and even surpasses expectations! A beautiful place in a magical location!!
Nathan and Shayne were both lovely, welcoming and attentive hosts, we had everything we needed and our stay was not only a breeze but also very relaxing and chilled!!
I could easily return time and time again! And hopefully will!
Thanks a bunch and see you soon - 21 Oct 2018
What an amazing place. The yurt is simply gorgeous with everything you could need. the skylight to the stars is such a lovely touch and the chickens made us giggle a lot. Snowdon walks less than an hour away, and plenty of lovely walks near by or just enjoy the space laze in the hammock and build fires ;) Lush!! - 10 Aug 2018Jeanette
What an amazing place to stay! We stayed in the smaller yurt, plenty big enough for both of us with lovely outside space and our own fire pit. Beautiful bed linen and wall hangings inside and fairy lights which added to the cozy ness along with the log burner. Fully equipped spotlessly clean kitchen in the log cabin next door. Didn’t get to meet Shayne unfortunately but Nathan is a great host. Very hospitable and up for a chat. They have a beautiful place up there in the forest and will most certainly be going back but for longer next... read more - 21 Oct 2018
Our third trip staying at shayne a and Nathan's and we absolutely love it, and wish we could live there. The hosts are really friendly and lovely people to be around, we ran out of wood, so nathan happily came and chopped some for us. The yurts are so comfortable, and the facilities are great for any weather. Hope to stay again soon. - 27 May 2019Ashlea
Wonderful and beautiful place. We were 4 young adults who went to have a relaxing weekend away, and that’s exactly what we got.
The yurt was in such a lovely secluded place, with plenty of different and exciting walking spots and some absolutely stunning views, in every direction.
Was interesting using the compost toilet as this was a new experience for all of us! Everything was very clean and well prepared for our visit.
We couldn’t have asked for a better host and will definitely be returning for future holidays. - 29 Apr 2018Briony Gunson
I had the most incredible stay at Ty Mam Mawr - Shayne and Nathan were such warm and generous hosts. A group of us booked out the site for a meditation retreat and it was the perfect setting to allow for such work to take place. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful, cosy yurts to stay in, a nearby waterfall that we walked down to and swam in! Adorable friendly pets - dogs and chickens! - that roamed around, sweetly interacting with us. And the site is clearly a labour of love - these stunning, eco-friendly structures. Oh and I mustn't forget Shayne's... read more - 26 Jun 2019
Just back from a fabulous three day break in the Welsh mountains at one of the most unique airbnb properties we have ever stayed in.
The location was excellent, being conveniently placed to access most of North Wales abd the yurt was everything that we expected, and yes, while we were in fact living off the grid, Shayne and Nathan made sure that the whole experience was extremely comfortable with plenty of hot showers and great kitchen facilities (and even wifi if you just have to keep in touch with the outside world but much better to leave technology... read more - 24 Feb 2019Lynn-Amanda Brown
This is such a beautiful place, created with love and held by Shayne and Nathan. I felt so warmly welcomed and also inspired by their whole vision of living in harmony with nature, using only natural, sustainable resources... They prove what can be achieved...a wonderful place to be. - 09 May 2018
We had a great 2 nights in the Yurt! It’s exactly as the pictures and the wood burner was more than warm enough even when it was nearly freezing outside :)
We would hope to come back in the summer to make more use of the outdoor spaces!
Thanks Shayne & Nathan for the experience we would 100% recommend it! :) - 24 Mar 2019Clare
Another amazing stay here at shayne an nathans! This time we stayed with friends in the big yurt. It was beautiful and very comfortable. Great new areas have been added since our last trip, compost loo and a new fire pit area. And some really sociable chickens. Thank you for having us all. Cant wait to come back. - 22 Apr 2018Charlotte
My family and I stayed here to celebrate my birthday. The yurt is beautiful and the facilities are well above the standard you would expect from off grid living. We were able to enjoy the bbq and fire pit. Chilling our drinks in the pond was all part of the adventure (there is a very large kitchen with fridge available but that isn’t as fun!)
Shayne was a wonderful host and although we didn’t meet Nathan his enthusiasm for off grid living was evident in all the fantastic facilities he has built.
Stay here to get away from it all. - 22 Apr 2019
An amazing place to stay with plenty of walking routes nearby. Luckily the weather wasn't too cold for a January visit but the fire made the yurt very cosy for the evenings. Worth knowing that the kitchen is well stocked with utensils so great if you are wanting to cook from scratch. We would definitely recommend staying here if you're after a peaceful getaway! - 26 Jan 2020
Wonderful part of the country. Drive through Snowdonia to the west coast while you're there. Great for recharging and spending quality time with loved ones. Can get chilly in the night this time of year so make sure you've always got wood for the log burner.
Shayne & Nathan are very welcoming and were quick to respond to any questions. - 01 Nov 2019Mags
We had a wonderful relaxing getaway here. The yurt is a beautiful space, romantic, comfortable and cosy. It's very quiet and the stars were amazing! We enjoyed walking in the Berwyn mountains and swimming/kayaking on Lake Bala.
Nathan was very welcoming and helpful, telling us about local walks and lending us a map.
The kitchen is well equipped and it's handy having a private loo right next to the yurt. I loved it here and wished we were staying longer. - 05 Sep 2018Juliet
Well, another blissful weekend at the Yurts. This time we had the weather with us and it was perfect- sunny and blowy, with chilly nights. Perfect yurt weather and Cynwyd weather as the walks through the woods and up by the waterfall are beautiful. As before, the yurts were equipped with logs, blankets and cushions for a cosy time In the evenings and everything was spotlessly clean. We were in the big yurt this time and it was fabulous. So much room. Very comfortable beds, a piping hot three way shower and well equipped kitchen makes it top glamping. Unforgettable... read more - 31 Mar 2019

Visiting here for a retreat was very nourishing on many levels. The landscape was idyllic and captivating with some beautiful walks in nature nearby (and swims for those that dared!). Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts who made the stay very comfortable and the roundhouse was a very peaceful and warm place to meditate. The food served was delicious and we ended up staying an extra day as we liked the place so much. Will definitely visit again! - 13 Jun 2018
We had a lovely stay, the yurt was gorgeous and very cosy. The deck outside was fantastic to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Lovely location, so peaceful and I loved all the fruit trees, statues etc and the general ambiance was wonderful. Very welcome hot showers after our walk in the hills, and the kitchen was a nice space to sit and enjoy our breakfast. Thanks so much! - 30 Sep 2018Jeff
The Yurt was authentic, spacious and really cosy. The surrounding forest and berywn mountains are beautiful and great for walking. Large well equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking big meals. Shanye and Nathan were really great hosts willing to help out and give advice whenever needed. We also had a great evening with them in there round house - 01 Jan 2018Hollie
Me and my partner had the most amazing experience at Shayne and Nathan’s yurt! It was a peaceful and relaxing break for us both. The yurt is beautiful and in the most gorgeous location! Shayne and Nathan were incredible and made us feel at home. We couldn’t recommend them and the yurt more! We didn’t want to come home! If you want a relaxing break in the Welsh mountains with kind and caring hosts then this is your place! You even have chickens to hang out with! :) - 26 Jul 2019
Staying here exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect secluded haven for a much needed nurturing time. Immersed in nature in a stunning clean yurt, adjacent to a super well equipped cabin. We had all the facilities needed for a short break. Clean air in superb settings, no light pollution enabled nights to be filled with clear views of star filled evenings. We didn't need to go anywhere as the walks on our doorstep gave us ample opportunity to explore the stunning beauty of this location. The hosts Shayne and Nathan were the best, kind, openhearted down... read more - 26 Sep 2017
