Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts and it was great to share their lifestyle for a few days. They looked after us very well, being readily available for advice and a chat, but never being obtrusive. The yurt itself was well furnished, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent - peaceful, away from it all, with good views all around and lovely walks from the door. Visits from the friendly chickens and pheasants while barbecuing on the verandah were an added bonus. A great place to stay. - 11 Sep 2020

Amazing location for a retreat! We hosted a retreat for 12 people across a weekend, with yoga, meditation, breathwork, cold water therapy and hikes in nature. We love this space, as it's such a beautiful setting in nature and the yurts and round house are so charming! Shayne + Nathan were really supportive, helpful and welcoming. The yurts are comfy and cosy to sleep in, the facilities are excellent - nice hot showers, good water pressure, clean toilets and a decent kitchen with loads of utensils so we could cook group meals for our retreat guests. We had a fireside chat one... read more - 26 Oct 2021Tessa
Got back from the yurt last night and very sad not to be waking up there this morning! Nathan is such a great host - communication was perfect, he made us feel so welcome and helped us with planning our stay.
The yurt was so spacious, cosy and comfy, and we loved warming up by the fire after spending our days taking in the beautiful views and fresh air. Plenty of pots, pans, cutlery etc, and shower was lovely and warm.
We arrived using public transport, directions were clear and so we had no issues getting there or getting around during our... read more - 06 Dec 2021
What a beautiful space in idyllic surroundings, perfect to unwind, relax and connect with nature. The yurt is both beautifully decorated and very cosy, the fire kept us toasty and our two 5month old twins were slept like proverbial logs. Shayne and Nathan are perfect hosts and put the cherry on top of a much needed break away. We will be back to swim in the waterfalls in summer - 19 Mar 2020
The yurt is a fun and unique way to spend the night camping. Shayne and Nathan offer all the amenities you need when camping and the yurt is situated in a tranquil area where you can sit under the stars by the fire pit or relax in the comfort of the yurt. We hope to visit again with our kids. - 01 Jun 2018
Lovely weekend stay, location was brilliant, amazing star gazing if you get a clear night! A truly special experience, from driving up the single way track entrance, you feel the city stress drift away! Wildlife all around and the sound of the stream was so relaxing. The yurt itself was perfect so well maintained and cosy with the log burner. Kitchen facility was good with everything you need. Hosts were welcoming, informative on the area and very friendly. Would highly recommend a stay here! - 11 Oct 2020Connor
This place is amazing! It was such a unique stay, in a beautiful setting, and the yurt was so cosy especially with the stove lit. It feels remote, up a single track road up a hillside, but still only 10 minutes from shops and places to get food.
Nathan was super helpful, and helped make our stay great!
We had a great weekend here and would highly recommend it! - 14 Nov 2021
One of the rare places you stumble across on Airbnb, get super excited about, and it lives up to and even surpasses expectations! A beautiful place in a magical location!!
Nathan and Shayne were both lovely, welcoming and attentive hosts, we had everything we needed and our stay was not only a breeze but also very relaxing and chilled!!
I could easily return time and time again! And hopefully will!
Thanks a bunch and see you soon - 21 Oct 2018Abigail
This really was a hidden gem in the forest!
We had such a wonderful time, we were made so welcome and relaxed the minute we walked into the beautiful yurt. The hammocks were amazing and extra facilities just perfect.
Shayne and Nathan are people to really inspire to be like, they’re working so hard to have as little impact as possible on the planet, everything has been thought through and considered. Inspirational!
Thank you, we can’t wait to come back! X - 21 Jul 2019
We had such a wonderful time at Shayne and Nathan's peaceful mountain hideaway.
We stayed in the larger of the two yurts and the two of us had lots of space to make ourselves at home. The place was clean and peaceful, and the bed was nice and comfy.
We enjoyed using the sweet little kitchen for making our meals. We had everything we needed. The fridge was a decent size for our food for the week, and they provided useful storage boxes for our dry foods.
It was great to have sole use of our own toilet and shower too.

Exceeded all expectations, we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our stay - even despite there being a storm. The yurt was so lovely, cosy and super clean - the stove heats it up really well and we stayed warm and snug all night long. The kitchen and bathroom also really clean, great hot shower and everything was provided that you’d need for an enjoyable break away in the countryside.
We were just gutted the weather was rubbish and we didn’t get to enjoy the hammocks and outdoor fire pit - we’ll have to come back!! Not that we needed an... read more - 03 Mar 2019
Of all the places we have stayed, this was the most magical and refreshing one to date. The location is breathtaking, fresh air and gorgeous views. The yurt is so cosy and beautiful. We drove 50mins and climbed Snowden. There is a village 5 minutes away. Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts. - 21 Oct 2019Neve
Great accommodation, very clean and had all kitchen equipment necessary! The yurt was lovely to stay in and really loved the rural location! The hosts never bothered us and gave us our privacy which was great. The bathroom and kitchen were as clean as the yurt which is rare when experiencing rural living! Everything was exactly as expected and we loved every minute of it would defiantly recommend if you like the outdoors of camping but prefer a slightly more (glamping) approach!
I only suggest that when you book and are on route to the location.. do not use the... read more - 05 Jun 2019Fia
Shayne & Nathan we’re wonderful hosts, very attentive to our needs and keen to give tips on places to visit & local hidden gems nearby.
The yurt was spacious, clean and we loved the hammock outside to chill in near the camp fire in the evenings.
Very cool experience - would recommend to a friend and family! - 25 Jul 2018
There are many original and quirky places to stay on AirBnB, but I really don't think you would find anywhere better than this. The yurt and amenities are excellent and both Shayne and Nathan are truly fabulous hosts... you will instantly feel welcome and they really feel like you have become part of their lifestyle for the duration of the stay (and you get to meet their gorgeous dogs, cats and chickens!).
The views are incredible and the local area is wonderful to explore, and if you are willing to travel slightly further afield there are some great sights to see... read more - 26 Aug 2019Fiona
We have been glamping at various places over the year & this trip blew us away. The yurt & the land are really magical , everything was perfect , the kitchen was great for cooking in & shower was lovely. We really enjoyed chilling out in the yurt playing bord games , going for walks in the forest & ventured to Bala to go to the micro brewery.Nathan is a wonderful host , he made my birthday weekend & nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend going here , we can’t wait to return. Thanks so much xx - 14 Jan 2019
Another amazing stay here at shayne an nathans! This time we stayed with friends in the big yurt. It was beautiful and very comfortable. Great new areas have been added since our last trip, compost loo and a new fire pit area. And some really sociable chickens. Thank you for having us all. Cant wait to come back. - 22 Apr 2018Nadine
Everything about our stay at Shayne and Nathan’s was perfect! I was a little sceptical about staying in a Yurt in the height of winter but it was super cosy and warm with the wood burning stove. Shayne and Nathan were on hand for advice about the local area and ensuring our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Can’t recommend this place enough! What an incredible space in a breathtaking location. - 11 Feb 2018
Shayne & Nathan are both lovely people, they make you feel right at home! We really enjoyed our stay in their beautiful yurt and they were always there to provide a helping hand. The yurt was provided with a lovely view which required all the essential you need for a cosy weekend off the grid. I can't thank them enough for their kindness and for making our stay that extra special. I will most definitely be booking another weekend soon and I recommend to anyone :) - 02 Apr 2018
Perfect style for a glamping stay and the kitchen and bathroom area are well- stocked, warm, and perfect for making creature comforts such as cold wine in the evening and a hot cuppa in the morning possible! Location is great; up a narrow track but keep your foot on the gas and you'll get there in the end! Worth it for the stunning location. Memorable stay, thanks x - 06 May 2019Claire
We were blessed to have had a Heavenly stay in this sanctuary of sorts that was so lovingly dreamed into being by the wonderful Nathan and Shayne. Peacefully surrounded by beautiful nature whilst sleeping in a magical yurt knowing that it’s in an ecologically minded way is truly a gift! We are so thankful to the both of them and from the heart recommend a stay here. - 28 Jun 2018Mags
We had a wonderful relaxing getaway here. The yurt is a beautiful space, romantic, comfortable and cosy. It's very quiet and the stars were amazing! We enjoyed walking in the Berwyn mountains and swimming/kayaking on Lake Bala.
Nathan was very welcoming and helpful, telling us about local walks and lending us a map.
The kitchen is well equipped and it's handy having a private loo right next to the yurt. I loved it here and wished we were staying longer. - 05 Sep 2018
It’s a very relaxing retreat but with all the modern conveniences (WiFi, power sockets, power shower, gas hob and oven) while still being able to use renewable energy. They’ve honestly thought of everything. The thought and care shines through in the little touches. You won’t be disappointed. - 22 Jul 2018
We absolutely loved our stay. A beautiful retreat from the world with cozy spaces and friendly pups and chickens. Easily accessible to Bala, Llangollen, and Corwen, but also really nice to just stay close and explore the trails. The kitchen and bathroom were immaculate and the yurt itself was warm and so comfortable. Shayne was so helpful and fun to talk to. - 15 Jun 2018
