Spaces & Accommodation

We love to help you feel at home.

Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.

The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.

Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.

We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.

Everything about this place is fantastic and highly recommended. The hospitality from Nathan and Shayne is great and the yurt itself is cosy and welcoming, but also wonderfully spacious. The facilities are clean and well equipped, remarkable when you are so rural and off grid. The setting is peaceful and scenic but the nearby Corwen has most amenities. A great base for walking, mountain biking or just lying by the fire reading. - 04 Nov 2017

One of the rare places you stumble across on Airbnb, get super excited about, and it lives up to and even surpasses expectations! A beautiful place in a magical location!!

Nathan and Shayne were both lovely, welcoming and attentive hosts, we had everything we needed and our stay was not only a breeze but also very relaxing and chilled!!

I could easily return time and time again! And hopefully will!

Thanks a bunch and see you soon

I just held a breathwork and shamanic healing retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and it was a beautiful experience beginning to end. This review almost seems like I'm cheating writing a good review for two extremely good friends, that's how well we were welcomed and the depth of our connection to Shayne and Nathan. The location is absolutely gorgeous. The yurts are really cool and cosy. The round house is an energetic bubble with the vibe of a really sacred space.

Shayne and Nathan are two of the most pleasant, loving, funny and authentic people I've ever met. I'm definitely...

What an incredible place. I can’t recommend this enough, get off the grid and unwind for a weekend!

Nathan and Shayne are fantastic hosts who communicated really well and looked after us throughout the stay.

They were happy to recommend anything locally but also left us to it in the yurt.

Couldn’t ask for more for a weekend away relaxing.

Thanks both for a top weekend!

Firstly, what a Stunning location, beautifully furnished yurt, so peaceful and relaxing, we were lucky to have good weather, chilly and frosty, but that also brought wonderful sunsets, the log burner soon warms the lovely yurt up. We sat outside wrapped up in our blankets, nice mug of hot chocolate, and mulled wine in the hammocks, enjoying the endless change of scenery throughout our trip.
Shayne and Nathan are such a lovely couple, not to forget the lovely dogs Tilly and Ruby, who were kind enough to take us on a walk around the forest.

Perfect style for a glamping stay and the kitchen and bathroom area are well- stocked, warm, and perfect for making creature comforts such as cold wine in the evening and a hot cuppa in the morning possible! Location is great; up a narrow track but keep your foot on the gas and you'll get there in the end! Worth it for the stunning location. Memorable stay, thanks x - 06 May 2019

This is a wonderful place to experience. We have wanted to come here for nearly two year and we finally managed to book a weekend away for our anniversary. It was everything we needed and more ! The views and surroundings are magical. Listening to the birds all day was soothing. The sunsets were great. We went here to celebrate our anniversary and it was a weekend we will have in our memory for a long time. The yurt had so many hippy vibes which was great ! Wow, what a lovely 4 days we have had at this beautiful yurt. Nathan and Shayne are great hosts very warm and friendly with lots of advice on local walks to hand. The yurt it’s self is truly amazing and it has its own little garden area with fire pit/bbq, chairs and table. The perfect place to come back to chill after a nice long walk and toast some marshmallows which went down a treat with our 6 year old son. I really can’t rate this pace enough. I had the most incredible stay at Ty Mam Mawr - Shayne and Nathan were such warm and generous hosts. A group of us booked out the site for a meditation retreat and it was the perfect setting to allow for such work to take place. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful, cosy yurts to stay in, a nearby waterfall that we walked down to and swam in! Adorable friendly pets - dogs and chickens! - that roamed around, sweetly interacting with us. And the site is clearly a labour of love - these stunning, eco-friendly structures. What a fabulous inspiring place this is, a blue print for off grid living and working in harmony with nature. I was here for a weekend on a retreat and left feeling nourished in heart body and soul. A thoroughly uplifting experience in magical surroundings, with a waterfall in walking distance and river to bathe in.

The round living spaces feel so organic and harmonious and the shower and kitchen facilities all work well. Can't wait to visit again. Utter peace and tranquility with caring joyous hosts.

The log burning stove in the yurt was more than enough to keep us toasty warm at night. The location is in a stunning part of Wales with beautiful views to observe and explore. The facilities extremely clean and well-kept whilst being environmentally friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others. Ty Mam Mawr is a perfect haven, set in stunning land scape nestled in a valley. I recently attended a Bioenergetics shaking retreat there; Shayne and Nathan made perfect hosts for a weekend where we all mucked in together; super relaxed and easy to get along with, over seeing us and also pointing us in the right direction for walks and wild swims in rivers and reservoirs. The round house, made out of natural materials made a wonderful place for meditations and inner reflection work. I'm already looking forward to the next weekend planned in November.....hope to see you there! - 06 Sep 2017

The hosts never bothered us and gave us our privacy which was great. The bathroom and kitchen were as clean as the yurt which is rare when experiencing rural living! Everything was exactly as expected and we loved every minute of it would defiantly recommend if you like the outdoors of camping but prefer a slightly more (glamping) approach!

It was our first experience of a Yurt and my sons were thrilled when we were shown around by our host.

The facilities available were also fantastic with a large communal kitchen which was well stocked with kitchen equipment and the cleanest oven I think I’ve ever seen.

Our Yurt also had access to a private toilet, shower and small kitchen area which was perfect for grabbing a coffee before you are able to face anyone.

Shayne and Nathan’s Airbnb is even better than we could’ve imagined - the photos really don’t do it justice. The hosts are lovely, down to earth and are there to help whether it’s to turn the oven on or suggest a place for lunch.
The location alone is incredible - somewhere that feels like the middle of nowhere whilst only being 5 minutes from the main road. Words can’t describe how incredible this place is.

We had a wonderful relaxing getaway here. The yurt is a beautiful space, romantic, comfortable and cosy. It's very quiet and the stars were amazing! We enjoyed walking in the Berwyn mountains and swimming/kayaking on Lake Bala.

Nathan was very welcoming and helpful, telling us about local walks and lending us a map.

The kitchen is well equipped and it's handy having a private loo right next to the yurt. I loved it here and wished we were staying longer.

My family and I stayed here to celebrate my birthday. The yurt is beautiful and the facilities are well above the standard you would expect from off grid living. We were able to enjoy the bbq and fire pit. Chilling our drinks in the pond was all part of the adventure (there is a very large kitchen with fridge available but that isn’t as fun!)
Shayne was a wonderful host and although we didn’t meet Nathan his enthusiasm for off grid living was evident in all the fantastic facilities he has built.
