Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

Myself and my 3 friends spent a weekend here, we all had an amazing time!! I would definitely recommend 2/3 night minimum as it is off grid and theres a lot to see and do around the area but you’ll need that bit more time as you have to travel quite a bit to get to places. Kitchen and shower facilities were superb. Breathtaking views and location, both hosts very happy to help. I would recommend speaking to the hosts on how to get there prior your journey, just as air bnb directions sent us a little wrong . Definitely recommended!! - 23 Sep 2018Leeanne
Absolutely stunning location and a beautiful yurt.
Nathan made us very welcome, while also giving us all the privacy we needed for a romantic trip away. All amenities were provided and the use of the log burning stove was explained to us; luckily because we didn’t have a clue! It turns out it was very simple to use and it made the yurt incredibly toasty on a chilly night.
The yurt, the kitchen area and the bathroom were spotless and the bed was ridiculously comfy. Plus there was an adorable chicken called Esmeralda!

We recently stayed for four nights with our 7 month old daughter and had a truly fantastic time. So nice to get away from everything and try something a little bit different.
Plenty to do in the local area including some lovely river/ forest walks right on your doorstep. We spent an entire day just chilling in the yurt/ garden area and our little one clearly loved it. The yurt and surrounding grounds were a sensory haven for her with so many colours, lights, sounds etc... she got particularly excited when a chicken wandered into the yurt!

We spent a fantastic four days in Shayne and Nathan's wonderful yurt. Very clean and comfortable and all the facilities were well thought out and worked well.
Shayne and Nathan were always on hand if we had any questions and gave us a warm welcome. Shayne took plenty of time showing us around and talking us through how evertying worked.
Snowdonia is within easy reach. We climbed Tryfan and Cadair Idris, both of which were about 45 minutes drive away.
Of course it helped that the weather was fantastic, but if it hadn't have been, the yurt is so big... read more - 30 May 2018
We had a lovely time staying in the yurt. The lighting and the decor make it a very relaxing place to be. The wood stove was perfect for keeping it nice and warm and Nathan had plenty of logs and firestarters available throughout our stay. Both the yurt and the wood cabin were clean and we had no complaints with anything. Nathan is very genuine and hospitable, which helped to make our stay in Wales even better. We would definetly recommend staying here if you're looking somewhere quiet, beautiful and a bit different than your run of the mill hotel. - 22 Dec 2017Rebecca
Of all the places we have stayed, this was the most magical and refreshing one to date. The location is breathtaking, fresh air and gorgeous views. The yurt is so cosy and beautiful. We drove 50mins and climbed Snowden. There is a village 5 minutes away. Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts. - 21 Oct 2019
Very quiet and peaceful holiday which was perfect for us and our dog. Great location with many walks close by, to get further afield into snowdonia it took us roughly a 1 hour drive each time but this gave us great opportunity to stop off at beauty spots. It can get very cold in the yurt at night so the use of the wood stove is very much needed and the included free bucket of logs you get lasts at least 5 days. You share the kitchen and bathroom with the smaller yurt which everytime was clean and had... read more - 05 Jul 2019Elizabeth
What can I say.... This was the first time we have stayed in a Yurt. It was peaceful, beautiful scenery, comfortable and very cosy. Shayne and Nathan are brilliant hosts, very welcoming and helpful. We hope to be back to stay again soon. A much needed break in the beautiful Berwyn Range. We would highly recommend anyone wanting a proper, comfortable and peaceful retreat from life’s rat race. - 25 Oct 2018Nadine
Everything about our stay at Shayne and Nathan’s was perfect! I was a little sceptical about staying in a Yurt in the height of winter but it was super cosy and warm with the wood burning stove. Shayne and Nathan were on hand for advice about the local area and ensuring our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Can’t recommend this place enough! What an incredible space in a breathtaking location. - 11 Feb 2018
A very relaxing stay. Off grid and very peaceful. Very clean facilities including kitchen facilities and shower/toilet room.
The hammocks on the decking were great... lovely to chill out on after a day of exploring North Wales.
Literally the only noise to be heard is that of the woodpecker and cuckoo of a morning and an owl... which was a lovely sound to hear.
Shayne and Nathan although not there on arrival (as we arrived a little later than we expected) ensured we had all the information we required and Shayne came to greet us the following day when we were... read more - 19 Jun 2018Jeff
The Yurt was authentic, spacious and really cosy. The surrounding forest and berywn mountains are beautiful and great for walking. Large well equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking big meals. Shanye and Nathan were really great hosts willing to help out and give advice whenever needed. We also had a great evening with them in there round house - 01 Jan 2018Charlotte
My family and I stayed here to celebrate my birthday. The yurt is beautiful and the facilities are well above the standard you would expect from off grid living. We were able to enjoy the bbq and fire pit. Chilling our drinks in the pond was all part of the adventure (there is a very large kitchen with fridge available but that isn’t as fun!)
Shayne was a wonderful host and although we didn’t meet Nathan his enthusiasm for off grid living was evident in all the fantastic facilities he has built.
Stay here to get away from it all. - 22 Apr 2019
The yurt was amazing! the beds inside are very confertable and having a log burner inside made it parricularly cosy! It was also a lot of fun having a fire pit and bbq outside to which you can use at your leisure! The area is beautiful and very tranquil, totally off the grid you can really relax. Nathan and Shane let us bring our dog with us and she loved it to! A very accommodating couple and a wonderful experience! - 15 Jul 2018
Firstly, what a Stunning location, beautifully furnished yurt, so peaceful and relaxing, we were lucky to have good weather, chilly and frosty, but that also brought wonderful sunsets, the log burner soon warms the lovely yurt up. We sat outside wrapped up in our blankets, nice mug of hot chocolate, and mulled wine in the hammocks, enjoying the endless change of scenery throughout our trip.
Shayne and Nathan are such a lovely couple, not to forget the lovely dogs Tilly and Ruby, who were kind enough to take us on a walk around the forest.

Shayne and Nathan’s yurt is AMAZING. It’s the perfect escape for the weekend in the beautiful backdrop of North Wales.
This is the second time I’ve stayed there with friends and Nathan is an amazing host. We felt instantly welcome and relaxed.
I’d highly recommend this to anyone. It’s a great space and living off the grid is cool! - 09 Dec 2018Snowflake Mountain
What a fabulous inspiring place this is, a blue print for off grid living and working in harmony with nature. I was here for a weekend on a retreat and left feeling nourished in heart body and soul. A thoroughly uplifting experience in magical surroundings, with a waterfall in walking distance and river to bathe in.
The round living spaces feel so organic and harmonious and the shower and kitchen facilities all work well. Can't wait to visit again. Utter peace and tranquility with caring joyous hosts. - 14 Jun 2018
I just held a breathwork and shamanic healing retreat at Ty Mam Mawr and it was a beautiful experience beginning to end.
This review almost feels like I'm cheating writing a good review for two extremely good friends, that's how well we were welcomed and the depth of our connection to Shayne and Nathan over the course of the weekend.
The location is absolutely gorgeous. The yurts are really cool and cosy. The round house is an energetic bubble with the vibe of a really sacred space.

This place is stunning. The yurt sits 400m above a sleepy Welsh village called Cynwyd. We arrived in the evening and woke up to gorgeous views, all covered in snow. Our hosts made sure we had everything we needed, and firewood was cheap and readily available for the stove in our yurt, keeping our stay cosy. Only a short 50 minute drive to Snowdonia national park, I fully recommend this as a place to stay if you'd like to climb Snowdon. Will definitely come back. - 11 Nov 2019

Sheer Love, Healing and Power emanates from The House and I was gifted with the opportunity of sharing in some of Her energy, truly a blessing and an honour to have had such an experience. Shayne and Nathan are pioneer souls of the New Earth and have manifested a sanctum that anchors as much as it radiates. Immeasurable gratitude to the work being dreamed, crafted and actualised here and may the vision ever-expand according to the Highest Good of All. Well, another blissful weekend at the Yurts. This time we had the weather with us and it was perfect- sunny and blowy, with chilly nights. Perfect yurt weather and Cynwyd weather as the walks through the woods and up by the waterfall are beautiful. As before, the yurts were equipped with logs, blankets and cushions for a cosy time In the evenings and everything was spotlessly clean. We were in the big yurt this time and it was fabulous. So much room. Very comfortable beds, a piping hot three way shower and well equipped kitchen makes it top glamping. Unforgettable... read more - 31 Mar 2019
Gorgeous yurt and space. All very chilled and bed was so comfy. Wonderful waking up to the Berwyn forest and happily swinging in the hammock!! The small log burner off so much heat- which was lovely and would be so cosy in winter. Shayne and Nathan were very friendly and the chickens and dogs were a lovely addition! - 22 Jul 2018

The place really has that magical feel about it. Outstanding everything.
Nathan welcomed us as soon as we arrived with a warm and welcoming encounter. Incredibly approachable guy who made us feel so at home.
The yurt itself was a thing of beauty, bright and spacious.
Lovely hot showers, bbq facilities with fully functioning kitchen.
The surrounds are breathtaking. Sheep, chickens, ruby the dog all just added to the magic. The walk to the waterfall was lovely too, only a short distance from the yurt. Easy access to snowdonia too.
All in all a unique, 5 star experience.
Unforgettable. - 11 Sep 2019

Visiting here for a retreat was very nourishing on many levels. The landscape was idyllic and captivating with some beautiful walks in nature nearby (and swims for those that dared!). Shayne and Nathan were excellent hosts who made the stay very comfortable and the roundhouse was a very peaceful and warm place to meditate. The food served was delicious and we ended up staying an extra day as we liked the place so much. Will definitely visit again! - 13 Jun 2018Megan
Great location, amazing hosts, friendly dogs tilly and ruby! seen so much wildlife, the shower and kitchen was always extremely clean, and the yurt was even more beautiful then the pictures, abit cold but once the fire gets going it’s extremely cosy, advise taking fire starting kits but overall an amazing trip! Will be back soon! :) x - 16 Feb 2018
You’ll love this place! Up on too of a hill, you can see the sunrise, sunset and moon rise. The changing weather systems make the scenery constantly different and interesting. The local village is super friendly as is the wee pub.
There is plenty wild swimming around, loads of walks and wonderful nature.
There is so much to do we ended up spending every day out the whole day but the yurt is huge and would allow for plenty of at home activities too.
Shayne, Nathan and all the animals are welcoming, helpful and friendly. - 09 Aug 2020

Just got back from a fantastic retreat weekend, and would like to say a big thank you to Nathan, and Shayne for being the perfect hosts. If anyone is considering going to one of these retreats, all I can say is just do it! You certainly will not regret it. If you have anything that needs to be worked though, such as a difficult life situation, it can really help you to work through painful emotions, and gain a healthier perspective that can make it easier to gain closure moving forwards. Sign me up for the next one! :-) - 27 Nov 2018Ross
Nathan was really friendly, and although we didn't have to interact a great deal, you could tell both Nathan and Shayne were incredibly attentive and helpful. The place itself is great and situated well for exploring. The yurt was fantastic, as were the rest of the facilities. It is the ideal place to escape stress and relax. - 20 May 2018
