Spaces & Accommodation
Centred around a magnificent modern straw bale roundhouse, accommodation is provided in two gorgeous yurts. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the log cabin with a small dining area plus a shower room/toilet and another smaller log cabin kitchenette with a compost loo and shower.
The roundhouse will very comfortably seat 20-25 people or to look at it another way, there's space for 8-10 yogis. Up to 6 guests can sleep in the roundhouse, whilst the yurts will accommodate a maximum of 12 guests between them.
Seats and fire bowls next to each yurt and a main central firepit near the roundhouse provide further communal spaces. The roundhouse and yurts are heated with wood burning stoves.
We may be 'off grid', but in terms of facilities you wouldn't know it! Plenty of hot water, a power shower, electricity in all the spaces and WiFi if required.View Spaces and Accommodation

This is the second time we stayed here and, just as expected, we had a fantastic time. Our daily adventures in the local forests ended with a hearty BBQ in the idyllic setting, then a cosy fire in the gorgeous yurt. Perfect!! Shayne and Nathan are breath of fresh air - down to earth, friendly and extremely helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you! - 17 Jul 2020
Shayne and Nathan’s yurt is AMAZING. It’s the perfect escape for the weekend in the beautiful backdrop of North Wales.
This is the second time I’ve stayed there with friends and Nathan is an amazing host. We felt instantly welcome and relaxed.
I’d highly recommend this to anyone. It’s a great space and living off the grid is cool! - 09 Dec 2018Naomi
Absolutely fantastic stay! Not only was it a beautiful location but the hospitality during our time there made us wish we could have stayed longer!
Hosts welcomed our dog, who thoroughly enjoyed interacting with the other pets and wildlife. They were very accommodating of this and ensuring we had everything we required.
Yurt itself and decor created a peaceful ambience and we were supplied with enough wood to keep the fire going! Would definitely recommend a stay here with themes superb hosts - 11 Apr 2019
Wow! What a wonderful place to stay! The perfect place to get away from it all, chill and just enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Beautiful location and still convenient for other towns. Would definitely recommend the walk to Liberty Hall from the yurt and being around for sunset, also using the fire pit and star gazing at night. We'll certainly be back in future! Great, friendly and helpful hosts too xxx - 19 Sep 2019Craig
I have had the great pleasure in spending a night at Ty Mam Mawr and also running a weekend retreat there.
I whole heartedly recommend this place for both time away and holding a retreat.
The environment is gorgeous and secluded with a beautiful forest walk and open fields right near by.
The yurts are a true delight to sleep in with ideal decor to match your get away in nature.
Shayne & Nathan the owners are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met and so accommodating. If you want to be on your own doing your own thing... read more - 16 Jun 2019
What a fabulous place to stay. Exactly as advertised: a warm and cosy yurt! We couldn’t have asked for more. The log burning stove in the yurt was more than enough to keep us toasty warm at night. The location is in a stunning part of Wales with beautiful views to observe and explore. The facilities extremely clean and well-kept whilst being environmentally friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you for being so accommodating Nathan! - 16 Apr 2019
What an amazing place. The yurt is simply gorgeous with everything you could need. the skylight to the stars is such a lovely touch and the chickens made us giggle a lot. Snowdon walks less than an hour away, and plenty of lovely walks near by or just enjoy the space laze in the hammock and build fires ;) Lush!! - 10 Aug 2018
We had a fantastic stay in the yurt, and can’t wait to return! Stunning, peaceful location on the edge of the forest, with waterfalls and hiking paths on your doorstep. The facilities are outstanding: a very well-equipped kitchen, delightful hot shower, wifi, and fire pits. Shayne was a warm host, giving us plenty of local advice. Thank you! - 26 Aug 2019Fia
Shayne & Nathan we’re wonderful hosts, very attentive to our needs and keen to give tips on places to visit & local hidden gems nearby.
The yurt was spacious, clean and we loved the hammock outside to chill in near the camp fire in the evenings.
Very cool experience - would recommend to a friend and family! - 25 Jul 2018
Great location, amazing hosts, friendly dogs tilly and ruby! seen so much wildlife, the shower and kitchen was always extremely clean, and the yurt was even more beautiful then the pictures, abit cold but once the fire gets going it’s extremely cosy, advise taking fire starting kits but overall an amazing trip! Will be back soon! :) x - 16 Feb 2018Richard & Emma
Great location and the Yurt is really cool. Shayne and Nathan were really helpful and facilitated a late check in for us travelling up from Guildford.
Everything you need is here and it is a great base to explore from to places like Llangollen and Betsy.
Thanks for your hospitality. - 04 Aug 2019
Staying in the yurt was a great experience of camping just more on the glamping side, that being you have a kitchen, bathroom and electricity. The hosts were nice and always replied to messages in a reasonable time. It is also in a good location with plenty of things to do nearby. - 15 Jan 2019
Gorgeous yurt and space. All very chilled and bed was so comfy. Wonderful waking up to the Berwyn forest and happily swinging in the hammock!! The small log burner off so much heat- which was lovely and would be so cosy in winter. Shayne and Nathan were very friendly and the chickens and dogs were a lovely addition! - 22 Jul 2018Lucy
What a special place this is! It was in exactly the location we were after for the Welsh leg of our road trip and the idea of a remote yurt certainly did appeal! The yurt was super comfortable and kept us cosy during some heavy rain. The view from the deck when the sun came out was fantastic. Kitchen cabin had everything we needed as well. Shayn & Nathan were great hosts and have created such a great place to stay. Totally recommend for anyone wanting something a little off the beaten track and different! I hope to get back... read more - 30 Jul 2018
Outstanding. Spent four nights over Christmas. In the big yurt. Sleeps 8. Terribly romantic. Nice double bed. Fairy lights so sweet. Stylish design. Hot shower and flushable loo. Huge gas oven for Christmas dinner. Shared kitchen with couple in other yurt which worked fine. Location remote and beautiful. Found great Welsh stew at Grouse Inn but we drove there. Would be scary in ice as some steep drops from the road. Top of a hill so great views but our 4x4 was reassuring! Two lovely chickens. No roosters. Amazing retreat location. You've got to visit. - 26 Dec 2017
Very quiet and peaceful holiday which was perfect for us and our dog. Great location with many walks close by, to get further afield into snowdonia it took us roughly a 1 hour drive each time but this gave us great opportunity to stop off at beauty spots. It can get very cold in the yurt at night so the use of the wood stove is very much needed and the included free bucket of logs you get lasts at least 5 days. You share the kitchen and bathroom with the smaller yurt which everytime was clean and had... read more - 05 Jul 2019Karen
This little yurt and cabin next door were fantastic - just right for the best and worst weather! It's secluded off the beaten track, and felt safe for my adventurous 8 year old. Host were great too - very helpful. I'm sure this site will continue to get better and better . Thank you. - 03 Jun 2018
