Greener Glamping

Posted on October 4, 2020July 30, 2025 by Nathan Green

So we are really pleased to announce that not only have we been certificated by the Greener Camping Club, we’ve also now sent our new Greener Glamping website live at greenerglamping.uk.

Our new site is specifically for renting the yurts only and not the whole of Ty Mam Mawr retreat centre.

    • I’ve just returned from the most marvellous few days away in the small yurt.
The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. It was so peaceful, I’m struggling to entertain the noise of being back in reality.
Nathan was the most wonderful welcoming, kind and thoughtful host.
I’m so grateful for the experience. Thank you so much for having me.

    • Out of this world!

We booked to stay at the yurt as a break from our busy and hectic lives. Needless to say, waking up every morning to the trickling sound of the stream, crackling embers fading from the fire and the smells of the forest made for more of a break than we ever imagined!

We arrived after spending the day bike riding through Coed-Y-Brenin, a forest around 50 minutes from the yurt, which we thoroughly recommend to all riding abilities! Nathan and Shayne were both so helpful and friendly, welcoming us to their home and showing us around the yurt, kitchen and dining areas, bathroom and fire areas and giving us lots of great ideas for our stay. We weren't aware that there is another, larger yurt also on site which can house up to 8 people. Luckily there were only 2 others in the other yurt, otherwise sharing the kitchen and bathroom could've created quite a queue! Hopefully the plans for building an additional kitchen/bathroom will help this.

Inside our yurt, we had a small wood burner that Nathan and Shayne kindly provided the wood for which heated the room perfectly. There was also a large sofa which could've been pulled out into another bed, and one of the comfiest double beds we’ve ever slept in! Memory foam mattress, down quilt and springy pillows! We also had at least 5 extra blankets and throws in a small cupboard which we used for sitting outside.

Outside the yurt we were provided with 2 seated hammocks and a large lie down hammock which 2 of us slept in together very comfortably one evening by the warmth of the fire!

All in all, we had a fabulous time and will definitely be returning! A brilliant place to visit for a quiet, relaxing break.

    • Really cosy and lovely yurt! It was such an interesting trip that felt like an adventure into the wilderness of Wales. Everything is clean, plenty of amenities in the kitchen, bathroom is clean and hot water and powerful shower. We were a couple in the smaller yurt and had loads of room. We were there in the snow and the fire kept us warm plenty and lots of other blankets provided.

We really enjoyed our break and Nathan and Shayne couldn’t do enough to make sure we were comfortable. It’s cool being off the grid as all electricity is created there, just make sure electricals that you take are kind of eco friendly.
