Greener Glamping

Posted on October 4, 2020July 30, 2025 by Nathan Green

So we are really pleased to announce that not only have we been certificated by the Greener Camping Club, we’ve also now sent our new Greener Glamping website live at greenerglamping.uk.

Our new site is specifically for renting the yurts only and not the whole of Ty Mam Mawr retreat centre.

    • Shayne met us on arrival and we talked and met throughout the weekend. We couldn’t have asked for a warmer, friendlier host. Shayne also gave some good advice on the local walks, as well as amenities, which were very useful and saved us some time on a quick weekend visit. The yurt was as per the photos, and had lovely views into the hills. The log burner meant we could stay warm even though we had a little snow. Definitely keep plenty of kindling and fire lighters so it’s easy to start again if it burns out during the night. Nice space for an outdoor fire pit too. It all added to a nice ‘outdoorsy’ weekend away. The kitchen area was very well equipped and you could easily prepare and cook a good meal in there if you wish. Shared bathroom and shower facilities were available, which were clean and warm. The local Indian restaurant food was very nice and worth a visit if eating out. The area is very pretty and also remote, which was ideal for a get-away break. Thanks for your hospitality.

    • I stayed here for three nights with my wife and our two small dogs. It was my 65th birthday weekend and I wanted something a bit different for the special occasion. The property is easy to find and in a really accessible location, but still away from it all. We had everything we needed to make our weekend very comfortable. The adjoining kitchen / dining room is very well equipped and very roomy. Plenty of storage space and food preparation surfaces. The shower room / WC has everything you need. The highlight of the stay though was the yurt. Plenty of room for two humans plus two hounds. And, when the wood-burning stove was lit, it was really warm and cosy. We experienced three cold nights there, but the stove kept us very comfortable. The immediate area has lots of good walks to keep the dogs happy. And, the Blue Lion down the hill in Cynwyd makes an excellent Sunday roast. It's dog-friendly too in the bar area. We are pleased to see how Nathan and Shayne have developed their property to make it very eco-friendly and off-the-grid. We both appreciate making minimal impact in our holiday choices and this property certainly ticked all the boxes for us. I can certainly recommend this property and hope to return again in the near future. Thank you Nathan and Shayne!!

    • Great location and the Yurt is really cool. Shayne and Nathan were really helpful and facilitated a late check in for us travelling up from Guildford.

Everything you need is here and it is a great base to explore from to places like Llangollen and Betsy.

      Thanks for your hospitality.
