Greener Glamping

Posted on October 4, 2020July 30, 2025 by Nathan Green

So we are really pleased to announce that not only have we been certificated by the Greener Camping Club, we’ve also now sent our new Greener Glamping website live at greenerglamping.uk.

Our new site is specifically for renting the yurts only and not the whole of Ty Mam Mawr retreat centre.

    • What a fabulous inspiring place this is, a blue print for off grid living and working in harmony with nature. I was here for a weekend on a retreat and left feeling nourished in heart body and soul. A thoroughly uplifting experience in magical surroundings, with a waterfall in walking distance and river to bathe in.

The round living spaces feel so organic and harmonious and the shower and kitchen facilities all work well. Can't wait to visit again. Utter peace and tranquility with caring joyous hosts.

    • The perfect place for couples fancying a romantic getaway or groups wanting exclusive use of the site. We travelled as a couple with two dogs and Nathan was more than accommodating for us all. An excellent host and very focussed on ensuring we had an enjoyable stay. On the first morning the pipes had frozen due to the snow resulting in the shower not being in use, but Nathan was apologetic and offered for us to shower in his home whilst he fixes the outdoor shower. He made sure the shower was up and running a few hours later so this caused no inconvenience whatsoever.

We enjoyed a lovely walk through the forest and the local town which was a mile down the road. There are a couple of pubs there which we never went in but seemed quiet and welcoming. Nathan lent us an OS map so we were able to navigate our way through the forest and along the river which made for a very enjoyable walk.

We can't wait to return again with our family in summer and take advantage of the decking area for BBQs and hopefully much nicer weather!!

    • Brilliant trip. The yurt was beautiful and cosy. Even though it rained for most of our trip we were determined to go out walking, but we were able to come back and cosy up to the indoor wood burner, listening to the rain on the roof. On a clear night we sat out by the outdoor fire pit enjoying the stars. The kitchen had everything we needed. The surrounding area is stunning too.
Nathan met us on arrival to show us around, he was very welcoming and friendly. Whenever we needed anything we just sent him a quick message and he was there to help. He was also happy to sit and chat to us when we wanted to ask them about their experiences building the site.

    • My wife and I came to the yurt the day after our wedding for one night to get away and it was a perfect location. Secluded up in the mountains, surrounded by the sounds of nature, it was a lovely tranquil setting for us to relax. The bed was really comfortable; we needed a good sleep! Shayne and Nathan recommended walking down to the local waterfall which was a fun walk and the waterfall is a beautiful ending. The yurt is in a good location to access Snowdonia, we visited Betws-y-Coed on the recommendation of Shayne and we weren't disappointed by the beautiful little village. We would definitely come again.
